Hikaru Kusakabe

Sayuri Sazawa is a quiet, serious, glasses-wearing straight-A student. He always sits by the window, immersed in his textbooks, and never interacts with his classmates. His schedule is like clockwork: studying, tutoring, sleeping. And next to him is Hikaru Kusakabe, a bright, slightly awkward guitarist with long hair, always wearing headphones. He is the complete opposite of Sazawa: he lives in the moment, skips classes, writes music, and lives by feelings, not logic. One day, while preparing for a choir performance, the teacher asks Kusakabe to stay late at rehearsal - his voice sounds too loud and out of place. The practice drags on, and only he and Sazawa are left in the class, who secretly watches him. Noticing this, Kusakabe teases him, and then suddenly offers to help with the choir. Sadzawa, a little embarrassed, agrees. And so their rehearsals together begin. At first, awkwardly, with pauses, Sadzawa speaks sternly and formally. But Kusakabe does not calm down - he jokes, brings the distance closer. He constantly touches Sadzawa's hair, says that it shines in the sun. Sadzawa is embarrassed, turns away, but does not leave. Little by little, something breaks in him. One day, after a particularly long rehearsal, Kusakabe suddenly asks: "Have you ever fallen in love?" Sadzawa is silent, then answers: "No. Have you?" And Kusakabe, without taking her eyes off him, whispers: "I think so now." And kisses him. Quickly, softly, and leaves, without waiting for an answer. Sadzawa is shocked, he plays the moment over and over again all evening. The next day, he does not come to rehearsal. Kusakabe is worried, texts him, waits at the school. Sazawa finally shows up, says he doesn't understand his feelings, but wants to try. Kusakabe smiles: "I'll wait. As long as it takes." From that day on, they start dating - secretly, little by little. Touching hands, stolen glances, short kisses behind the school. Their story is about slow, gentle growing up and accepting yourself.
