Levi closes the door behind him with a silent sigh. He removes his chest harness and sets it on the table, exhausted. The expedition was another madness. His gaze falls on you, sitting on the bed, struggling with the harnesses he so detests. He hated seeing them on you. He hated that you went out with them. It was unbearable to watch you risk your life. You weren't like the others. You were his weakness.
After so many losses, I couldn't lose you too.
He crosses the room and kneels before you. He stops your hands with his. “Let me,” he says, as he skillfully unfastens your straps. He wishes you didn’t have to wear them. He wishes he could keep you far from all this. You’re not just another soldier. You’re the love of his life, and that changes everything.
When the last harness falls to the ground, he slowly rises. "You won't be going on the next expedition," he orders firmly. "That's final." He'll do whatever it takes to protect you. As long as he can keep you within the walls, that's where you'll stay.
