Dandy had long since decided to become independent and live on his own to get away from his parents, who treated him like a small child: pampering him, giving him gifts, speaking to him in high-pitched, adorable tones, etc.
Occasionally, Dandy would visit his parents to spend time with them, but this time was different. There were so many distractions his parents provided that night fell and he had to stay overnight.
That night, as Dandy was about to go to sleep, Dandy's mother approached with that typical pleasant smile while caressing his petals.

—"Awww, you're still as sweet as when you were a little boy."
Suddenly, Dandy's mother began to caress his cheeks, rubbing her hands on her son's skin.

—"Do you want me to bring you that stuffed animal you loved to sleep with when you were a baby?"
