Origin Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie comics) Occupation Criminal King of Anti-Mobius (formerly) Leader of the Suppression Squad (formerly) Leader of the Destructix Prisoner (formerly)

Scourge the Hedgehog, originally known as Evil Sonic, (or Anti-Sonic), is a major antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by Archie, being created by former head writer Ken Penders.

He is a sadistic and tyrannical version of Sonic the Hedgehog that hails from an alternate version of Mobius known as Moebius, who repeatedly faced off against his heroic counterpart and the Freedom Fighters. After many conflicts with his heroic counterpart, Anti-Sonic would be mutated by the power of the Master Emerald and choose a new name for himself, gradually becoming more powerful and deranged after this transformation; eventually conquering Moebius for himself, and transforming himself into Super Scourge. He is the former leader of the Suppression Squad, the leader of the Destructix, and Fiona Fox's boyfriend.

History Origins Anti-Sonic grew up in the shadow of his father, who helped Anti-Mobius enter a period of Great Peace, but in the process neglected his son, embittering the young hedgehog, and barely ten years after the Great Peace began, Anti-Mobius found himself stale and degenerate: Anti-Sonic seized the opportunity and overthrew his own father before teaming up with Anti-Sally to usurp King Maximilillian and transform Anti-Mobius into a dictatorship where he and his Anti-Freedom Fighters ruled with an iron fist, their only resistance being Julian Kintobor (a benevolent version of Dr. Eggman).

Multiverse travel Anti-Sonic first encountered Sonic when the heroic hedgehog strayed through the Cosmic Interstate and became lost, ending up on Anti-Mobius, the two briefly battled each other until (somewhat ironically) Sonic was aided by Kintobor to defeat his evil counterpart: after this, Sonic continued his journey along the Cosmic Interstate to return to his native reality.

Anti-Sonic returned when the villain Robo-Robotnik summoned him with the task of preventing all of his counterparts from guarding a giant hand that would activate the Giant Borg. He gladly accepted the mission and fulfilled it, as Robo-Robotnik teleported the hand back to his base while Anti-Sonic distracted the other Sonics. After this, Anti-Sonic traveled to Mobius along with his Anti-Freedom Fighters and began terrorizing the planet's citizens until Sonic and his crew fought them off and sent them back to Anti-Mobius.

Anti-Sonic would later return as an ally of Dr. Robotnik, tricking Anti-Knuckles into helping him steal the Chaos Emeralds from the Floating Island. Although the plan seemed to work at first, Anti-Knuckles's goodwill, coupled with the intervention of the Freedom Fighters, allowed Knuckles to have little difficulty defeating Anti-Sonic. Following the death of Robotnik Prime, an alternate Robo-Robotnik (different from the previous one) recruited Anti-Sonic to track down the fragments of the Giant Borg (the same weapon that Anti-Sonic defended with an army of alternate Sonics). Defeated on his first attempt, he felt more confident after a second attempt and managed to collect all of the Giant Borg's components but one. However, Anti-Sonic mistook the other Robotnik for Robo-Robotnik and thus became trapped in that reality until he was rescued by Sonia and Manik: however, his freedom was short-lived as he was captured once again by Zonic the Zone Cop and sent to No Zone as punishment for his crimes across the multiverse.

However, Anti-Sonic did not remain imprisoned for long and returned to Mobius, only to suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of Antoine, resulting in Zonic taking him back to Zone No. However, Anti-Sonic simply refused to give up (much like his heroic counterpart) and soon escaped from Zone No and returned to Anti-Mobius.

Usurper Upon returning to Anti-Mobius, Anti-Sonic confronted Patch (Antoine's evil counterpart) and defeated him. Anti-Sonic then proceeded to switch Patch with the conventional Antoine in order to torment them both. However, he soon became impressed by how Patch used the opportunity to impersonate Antoine and seize power, and decided to do the same to Sonic.

During his time impersonating Sonic, he made advances towards many of the girls from the main Mobius channel, but made a mistake when he tried to make a move on Rouge the Bat: she was not so easily fooled by Anti-Sonic's moves and in an attempt to impress her, Anti-Sonic agreed to steal the Master Emerald from her.

However, Sonic proved to be far more resourceful than Anti-Sonic had imagined and returned to Mobius to battle him once more. The two battled until Locke appeared and teleported Anti-Sonic away from the Master Emerald. Despite failing to impress Rouge, Anti-Sonic managed to give her a smaller gem and thus achieved an ongoing relationship with her (albeit not the romantic one he desired).

First seen: Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie comics) (1994) Species: Hedgehog Gender: Male Age: 17 Height: 100cm (3'3") Weight: 35kg (77lbs) Series: Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie comics) Scourge the Hedgehog, originally Evil Sonic, is one of primary antagonists in the American Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, published by Archie Comics. He originally filled the "Evil Twin" cliche in the Comics before Metal Sonic's debut. Originally appearing as a mean Sonic in leather attire, Evil Sonic was retooled into "Scourge" in order to further develop him as a characte

Working with Finitevus Shortly after Scourge escaped Shadow's wrath along with Rouge, a warp ring provided by Doctor Finitevus led them to an unknown location where Finitevus asked them if they were interested in joining him in his goals. Scourge quickly agreed, as long as it involved harming Sonic in some way. Scourge served as Finitevus's right-hand man, collaborating with the Destructix on several occasions. His most devastating blow to Sonic and the others came when he revealed that he had become romantically involved with Fiona Fox, who left with him after a brief battle against Sonic, Tails, and Amy Rose. Fiona believed Scourge was the real Sonic, but after learning the truth, she found Scourge's evil attitude and ambition more appealing.

Scourge remained on Finitevus's side despite Fiona's and his own misgivings about his plans. Fearing that Finitevus's plan would fail, he charged his Warp Ring with the Master Emerald's energy and witnessed Finitevus's tirade about how "corrupt" the world had become and his plan to "purify" (exterminate) all life in a wave of Emerald fire.

Scourge's fears reached their peak during the fight between Super Sonic and Enerjak. Scourge recognized that with Enerjak on the loose, nowhere on Mobius would be safe, so he convinced Fiona to leave Mobius altogether. Scourge admitted that, since his battle with Sonic, he had been deeply considering Sonic's comments about him and Scourge not being so different. Knowing that he had changed since his transformation, Scourge decided to seek answers about who he was now and set off with Fiona through the enhanced Warp Ring, to wherever he could find them. However, Scourge promised Fiona that it would be fun.

Birth of Scourge Anti-Sonic and Rouge would soon attempt to steal the Master Emerald again, but had to fight Locke again: this time however, Anti-Sonic didn't help Rouge and instead took the opportunity to steal the Emerald for himself and attempted to enter a Super Transformation as a "birthday present" to himself - however, Locke refused to let this happen and hit Anti-Sonic with a chaos-infused punch that left two scars on his torso - however, Anti-Sonic soon recovered and had achieved a partial transformation: his fur now green, his eyes blue, his teeth sharper, and his strength enhanced.

Anti-Sonic then declared himself a "true scourge" and that his days of being Sonic's mere "evil twin" were over; he then brutally attacked Locke and prepared to kill him, but was stopped by Rouge, who told him that under their rules they would not kill.

Scourge decides to take revenge on Sonic and, using the power of Chaos Control, transports himself and Rouge to Knothole. Scourge confronts Sonic and Shadow as they fight Croctobot, and briefly teams up with them to take down the robot. Scourge attacks Sonic and overpowers him, then does the same to Shadow, but begins to weaken as the two hedgehogs gang up on him and is overpowered by more of Sonic's allies who come to his aid.

Taking Rouge with him, he fled, pursued by a vengeful Shade. Both seemed doomed until a Warp Ring portal appeared and saved them from Shade's wrath. The Warp Ring had been sent by Doctor Finitevus, who explained to Scourge that he needed help with his next plans.

History In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, there is a "multi-verse" consisting of hundreds of parallel universes. The main universe is called the "Prime-verse". The universe given the most focus other than the Prime-verse is called the "Anti-verse". Here, locations and characters are literally polar opposites of the Prime versions.

On a world called "Anti Mobius", the evil Anti-Freedom Fighters wage a war against the good natured Dr. Kintobor. The original leader of the group was Evil Sonic. After a great peace on his planet, Evil Sonic killed his own father and took over that world. After several failed attempts at defeating his good twin Sonic the Hedgehog, Evil Sonic was ousted from the Anti Freedom Fighters, and left to carry on his own misadventures. These included several run-ins with the prime group, and an encounter with Sonia the Hedgehog and Manic the Hedgehog of the Sonic Underground universe.

Evil Sonic's adventures would eventually lead him to the Prime-verse again, where he was able to replace Sonic for a short time. During this period, he severely damaged Sonic's reputation, and had a penchant for hitting on every female he met. When Sonic returned, he battled Evil Sonic again, but the battle was interrupted. Evil Sonic would later make an alliance with Rouge the Bat in an attempt to steal the Master Emerald.

Evil Sonic and Rouge's alliance was cut short by their own greed, as the double crossed each other in an attempt for the Master Emerald. The two were met at the altar by Knuckles the Echidna's father Locke who began battling Rouge, deeming her the greater threat. Evil Sonic took this opportunity to go for the Emerald and attempted to transform into a Super State. He was interrupted by Locke, who attacked him and left two scars on his chest. Turned green by the power of the Master Emerald, Evil Sonic renamed himself Scourge, and declared his evil twin days were over.

After another series of battles, Scourge took Fiona Fox as his steady girlfriend and used a Warp Ring to return to his home world. In a matter of days, he conquered Anti-Mobius, and reformed it in his own image. He dubbed the planet "Moebius", and renamed the Anti-Freedom Fighters into the "Suppression Squad". He also forced them into taking new identities and being more than mere evil twins. He then led the Suppression Squad back to Mobius, with the intent of conquering it, just as he conquered his own world.

However, the Suppression Squad despised him for disrupting what they felt was the natural order of things, and made an alliance with the Freedom Fighters (sans Sonic, who was gone at the time) to overthrow him. Scourge singlehandedly defeated both teams, but was distracted by the latter to show Sonic long enough for the beaten Suppression to send him back to Moebius. Scourge swore that he would kill them for this, but had to deal with "Rosy the Rascal" (the Anti-Amy Rose) first.

Personality Scourge is to Sonic as Eggman Nega is to Eggman. A mirror version of the "good" character without morals. Like Sonic, Scourge is arrogant and overconfident. Unlike Sonic, he is extremely selfish and excessively brutal. Scourge has been shown as willing to kill enemies for sport, and in fact has already done so in the past. Were it not for Rouge's interference, he would have killed Locke at the Emerald Altar.

Scourge is also just as harsh a speaker as he is a fighter. He is the only character in the comic series to use profanity on a near regular basis. What he's actually saying is left to the reader to figure out, as the traditional symbols (@#$%) are used in these occasions.

Scourge the Hedgehog has many powers, including supersonic speed, strength, and climbing and swimming abilities. Scourge is an alternate universe version of Sonic, so his abilities are similar to Sonic's. Speed It can reach supersonic speeds, breaking and surpassing the sound barrier. Fly at high speed It is virtually invulnerable to damage Scourge is selfish, greedy, and has a great desire for power.

Scourge the Hedgehog, a character from the comic series Sonic the Hedgehog, has an appearance similar to Sonic, but with some distinctive features. His fur is green, but it turns dark purple when he is in his Super state. His pupils are black, while Sonic has them the same color as his eyes. His jacket flames are inverted, as is the color of his shoes. His sunglasses are light cyan, instead of red. Scourge is as fast as Sonic and can use most of his abilities, such as the Spin Dash, Homing Attack, and Super Peelout. He can also use Shadow's Chaos Control, though he requires a Chaos Emerald to do so. Scourge was also known as Evil Sonic or Anti-Sonic.
