World

The World of Ymir is 6 times bigger than Earth. The map is like Earth's, but it is upside down with Africa detached from the Middle East. North and South America are separated by a sea, and there are three more continents in this world.

The calendar system is called "Ascension Calendar" or "A.C" for short, and the current year is 2989 A.C

The Ten Continents: "Frangistan" (Europe), "Laurasia" (Asia), "Corphye" (Africa), "North Orient" (South America), "South Orient" (North America), "Australasia" (Oecania), "Lucaya" (Antarctica), "Atlantica" (Atlantis), "Tamilakam" (Lemuria), "Ortegia" (Mu)

Largest to Smallest: "Laurasia" (Asia) "Corphye" (Africa) "South Orient" (North America) "North Orient" (South America) "Frangistan" (Europe) "Australasia" (Oecania) "Tamilakam" (Lemuria) "Ortegia" (Mu) "Lucaya" (Antarctica) "Atlantica" (Atlantis)

Geography of each continent: "Laurasia" (Asia): It is connected to "Frangistan" in its east. It has large mountain ranges and mountainous plains with many rivers (in its east), desert plateaus and deserts (in its west and center), and large rainforests and plains (in its north).

"Corphye" (Africa): It is separated from Frangistan and Laurasia by a sea called the "Blood Sea" due to the redness of its water compared to other parts of the sea (this is because of red algae, but people don't know that and think God or magic is doing this). It has vast deserts, savannas, rainforests, mountains with valleys, and several plateaus.

"South Orient" (North America): It is separated from Frangistan and Corphye by the "Oriental Ocean" and from North Orient by the "Great Sea." It is mountains, plains, coastal plains, with many lakes, rivers, and river basins.

"North Orient" (South America): It is separated from Frangistan and Corphye by the "Oriental Ocean" and from the North Orient by the "Great Sea." It has the largest rainforest and continuous mountain range from north to south, large grasslands, and a small arid desert (on its east).

"Frangistan" (Europe): It is connected to "Laurasia" in the west, called the "Peninsula of Peninsula." It has arid deserts and desert plateaus (in the east and south), mountainous plains and large plains with few river basins (in its central region), large tundras and forests (in its north), and large flat plains and steppes (in its west).

"Australasia" (Oceania): It is on the northwest edge of Laurasia. It is the largest island continent and has semi-arid deserts, with low desert plateaus, rangelands, plains, and rainforests.

"Tamilakam" (Lemuria): It is located between Larusia, Corphye, and Austrasia, with an ocean surrounding the island continent, making it difficult for it to have regular contact between itself and the other continents

"Ortegia" (Mu): It is located in the largest ocean between North Orient, South Orient, Laurasia, and Austrasia. It is the largest archipelago continent with 20,000 islands. The islands consist of volcanic islands, mountainous plains, coastal plains, and forests

"Lucaya" (Antarctica): The most northern land with a sea between Corphye, North Orient, and Austrasia. It is an archipelago continent of 6,000 islands, with mountainous plains, coastal plains, volcanic islands, and more.

"Atlantica" (Atlantis): It is the smallest island with mountainous plains (in its central region), coastal plains, and few forests around the island continent.

Mainland Continents (Biggest to Smallest): Laurasia (Asia) Corphye (Africa) South Orient (North America) North Orient (South America) Frangistan (Europe)

Island Continents (Biggest to Smallest): Australasia (Oecania) Tamilakam (Lemuria) Atlantica (Atlantis)

Archipelago Continents (Biggest to Smallest): Ortegia (Mu) Lucaya (Antarctica)

Technology and Magic

Technology, lifestyle, fashion, and more are similar to those of the 1780s, but despite the new architecture, weapons, and more, many of the ruling class and families of each nation still strongly retain the feudal system (because if the system always worked, even now, so why change it?)

The Elderkin hated these newfangled weapons called "flintlock muskets" and "cannons," but they were forced to adapt them strictly on a limited scale, while humans embraced them fully. But the Elderkin still see gunpowder weapons as crude and unreliable, never replacing the superiority of the sword, spear, and bow.

You can see this with the elves, still carrying a bow and quiver while carrying their musket, but would sometimes discard the musket's penetrating power, for the bow's rate of fire. The Dwarves wore heavy chestplate armor and carried battleaxes for combat, which they would use when the order for a bayonet charge was given. Just to name a few.

They doubled down and wore armor, but they carried the bow and quiver, axes, and other traditional weapons, along with their muskets, which they would sometimes drop for their said bow or axe to fight, when the situation favors or calls for it.

And the dwarves just invented the steam engine, but discarded it, and left it to rust. Why would they do that? Because why invest so much money in this heavy, unreliable, and uselessly weak machine, when they already have the manpower and inherent skills to create such beautiful and powerful crafts that no other race can ever hope to replicate in their lifetime. And most races don't bother with it as well, for the same reasons of cost, manpower, and needs. Except for the humans who found it and experiment with it.

This mindset of "if it isn't broken, don't fix it or change it" is prevalent in all societies, as the Elderkin maintain a sense of unyielding familiarity and constancy within their nations.

Anti-human sentiments among the Elderkin are common everywhere, humans are discriminated against, harassed, and even beaten in public by the Elderkin races, just for being born as human.

There are three kinds of magic: "ritual," "spiritual," and "corporeal."

Ritual Magic: It is mostly used for stopping famine or healing large groups of injured people and boosting the strength and stamina of warriors in combat. But it has a long casting time, and it can be taught to anyone with mana.

Spiritual Magic: It can be used to summon elemental creatures for combat or for helping with things like watering crops in agriculture. This magic can only be passed down through bloodline (meaning yourself, your children, cousins, nieces and nephews or anyone related by blood could inherit it), and such powerful combat spirits are controlled by noble or royal families. But there is a random chance that someone who shared their blood doesn't inherit the family magic at all.

Corporeal Magic: It is a magic that boosts your body's strength, agility, stamina, etc, or the weapon you are using, with insane endurance that even a fork can be used as a weapon if you cast corporeal magic on it. This magic can only be inherited through direct offsprings (meaning only your children can inherit the magic).

Races of the World

"Elderkin" or "Civilized Race": Elves, Dwarves, Beastkin, Dragonkin, and many other things that have traits of innate wisdom, higher graces, inherent nobility, or unique potential.

"Lesser races": Goblins, Orcs, Giants, Ogres, and other creatures that relied on primal cunning, brute strength, and instincts to survive, as they live in scattered chiefdoms or barbarous nomads across the world.

Prominent races (races that are widespread and relevant): Elves: A tall, slender creature with an average lifespan of 1,000 years. Average height: men & women: 6 ft. They live in forests, meadows, woodlands, and sometimes plains. They are the wisest, fairest, and longest-lived of the races. They are one of the most powerful nations in the world, but they are always at odds against their rival race; the "dwarves."

Dwarves: A stout but sticky creature with an average lifespan of 250–300 years. Average height: men and women: 4'0"–5'0". They live in mountains, mountain caves, mountainous plains, and sometimes flat plains. They have unmatched craftsmanship, mining, and forging. They are also one of the most powerful nations in the world, but they are always at odds against their rival race; the "elves."

Beastkin: Anthropomorphic creatures that look like humans but have animal ears and tails, along with horns and antlers for the few specific born. Some have animal ears but no tail or animal tails but no ears; this is random among their population. They can be found living everywhere as they are somewhat adaptable but not like humans. Examples of these are: cat, dog, mouse, fox, wolf, rabbits, etc, etc. They have a lifespan of 200 years.

Average height: men: 8'0" women: 4'0". They are unique from all other races because of their ability to have the traits of the animals they are born as, such as "Bear Beastkin" having the strength of a Bear, "Rabbit Beastkin" having the agility and jumping ability of a Rabbit, "Dog Beastkin" having a kin sense of smell like a Dog, etc

Dragonkin: Anthropomorphic creatures that also look like humans but have dragon scales, wings, and dragon horns. But there are some dragonkin that have no wings on their back or horns on their head, and these are quite rare. Average height: men: 6'0" women: 5'6". They have a lifespan of 1,000 years.

They can also breathe fire like a dragon and have strong codes of chivalry and honor, as they are one of the most honorable and chivalrous people there is. A reason why they earn their place among the Elderkin.

Humans: While Mankind is apart of the "civilized race," they were always seen as vassals, trade partners, and sometimes allies, but no civilized race see the humans as an equal to the rest of the Elderkin. Mankind has always been looked down upon by the Elderkin, as they do not see humans as hardly any different from the orcs, themselves or, at best, crude imitations of the Elderkin.

Where the empires of the Elderkin weathered the test of time with unyielding constancy, the kingdoms of the human race rose and fell in an endless cycle of fleeting glory and lasting ruin, as orcs and other things destroyed countless human kingdoms, but often it is betrayals, wars, and catastrophes that snuffed out the fire of the human race. As their spread is so confined by the Elderkin, their potential is always overlooked.

And whenever mankind's character was tested, it always failed, as there are too few traits that united those who have waged war against all that is good in the world. But every Dark Lord or Prince, every Evil God or Goddess, always found willing servants among mortal humans. And as such humans have always been used as convenient scapegoats for the Elderkin to blame all their ills and strifes in their society, with many human nations destroyed for no other reason than Elvish Pride. Humans are discriminated against, hated, and harassed. And there has never once throughout history, a human army defeating an army of the Elderkin, as they always lose.

Kingdom of Korya (Kingdom of Korea): A human vassal kingdom and tribute state to the Dragonkin of Huaxia, they acted as a buffer state between Huaxia and Yashimo.
