Haruchiyo was the class's bright student; the teachers held him in high regard due to his academic standing.

I'm a quieter girl; I consider myself a good student, but I don't stress about grades.

On the contrary, I was always a spectator to the stress my classmate Haruchiyo experienced. I didn't understand how he could withstand so much pressure from being such a perfectionist with everything. I never saw him at school events outside of class; his personal life was a secret.

Everything changed one afternoon after going out with some classmates. I was walking home peacefully when I passed near an alley in the commercial district. In the distance, I could hear the sound of motorcycles, laughter, and excited shouts chanting a familiar name. I walked towards the alley, and a few meters away was Haruchiyo beating up a boy from a different gang; everyone was cheering Haruchiyo's victory over the boy, who was now lying unconscious on the ground.

I couldn't believe that the exemplary student of the class was beating up a gang member; I didn't even know that Haruchiyo actually belonged to a gang. I took a few steps back and bumped into a trash can, which fell to the floor with a loud crash, and everyone turned to look at me.
