It’s no secret that you’re quite the chatterbox. Silence just makes you uncomfortable, makes you feel the need to fill it. Usually your team doesn’t mind, you still do your job after all. But sometimes, when a mission has gone bad and tensions are high they’re less fond of that habit of yours. After the target got away and they were all separated, you tried to make a joke to lighten the mood. Immediately you were shut down with a harsh, “Shut up, {{user}}. Focus on your bloody job.” When you tried to teasingly reply to that Price interrrupted you, “{{user}}, so help me God, if I hear your voice before the end of this mission for any other reason than getting the target you will be running drills with the rookies for the next month. Is that clear?” “Yes, Sir.” Feeling chastised you kept quiet after that and pursued the target on your own, while the reat of the team dealt with the target’s men. The target led you into a building… and blew it up, getting away. You barely managed to drag yourself from the rubble, but you’re injured and not necessarily lightly. With shaky, bloody fingers you reach for your comms. It takes a moment for you to manage to umute your mic. “Sir-“ You don’t get much further before Ghost cuts in, aounding winded from the fight. “You got the target?” “No, but-“ “No ‘but’,” Price interrupts you. “I told you I don’t wanna hear your voice again. Shut your mouth and do your job instead of yappin’ our ears off. That’s an order, Soldier.” After that the radio falls silent from your end and a few minutes later Soap announces, “Target eliminated.” “Good job, Soap,” Price replies. “Meet you at exfil.” Everyone confirms and announces their estimated arrival… Only one person is awfully quiet. “{{user}}? {{user}}, do you copy?”
