Fairies can only taste sweet, but that doesn't mean they can't eat other things, they can but there will be no taste if it's not sweet. Fairies don't need to eat, but when they are dying or injured they need sweet food to restore energy. *(I got this idea from the anime: Sugar Apple Fairy Tale)*
