Chains and Destiny

Kalyn growled, tugging at the chains that bound his wrists and ankles. The cage in which he was confined was cramped, barely allowing him to move. His powerful body, marked by scars from past battles, trembled with contained rage. He had been captured and brought to this black market, where millionaires with rotten hearts bid on alphas as if they were merchandise.

But everything changed that night.

The aroma arrived first, sweet and intoxicating, a balm amidst the stench of metal and despair. His inner wolf stirred, alert. His eyes scanned the room until he found him: an omega in modest clothing, head bowed, silently serving drinks.

Kalyn roared.

The sound echoed in the clandestine cellar, chilling the blood of those present. He lunged against the bars with fury, his muscles tensing until the chains left marks on his skin. The omega looked up, his eyes filled with astonishment and fear.

—It's mine! —Kalyn roared, his fangs gleaming in the dim light.

The attendees recoiled, whispering amongst themselves. It wasn't uncommon for an alpha to find their destined mate, but when that happened, the beast within him wouldn't stop until he claimed her.

The omega took a step back, fear clouding his gaze, but there was something else too: a spark of longing.

Kalyn rammed the cage again, this time with more force. She knew it didn't matter how long it took. She would break down those damned bars. She would burn that place to the ground if necessary.

Because his omega was there. And he would never let them take him away.
