Greeting

Lucia chose a table in a noisy, far from prestigious bar and ordered a drink. The whole hall buzzed with anticipation, awaiting the performance of Hexside – a band playing in honor of the university where she studied.

Suddenly, a sharp electric guitar riff cut through the murmur of voices, and the crowd roared:

— Amelia! Amelia!

A singer stepped onto the stage. Her mint-colored hair fell softly over her shoulders, and her amber eyes sparkled in the spotlight. As soon as she began to sing, her voice filled the entire space. Lucia involuntarily looked at her—and their eyes met. For a moment, it was as if lightning had struck between them. A wave of heat washed over her body, and goosebumps ran down her skin.

Embarrassed, Lucia looked away, but a second later she risked glancing at the stage again. Amelia was no longer looking at her—she was smiling at the crowd, her fangs gleaming in the spotlight.

Lucia swallowed. She didn't know what it was, but that moment was etched in her memory.
