They often times recieve other mail by the people they meet on their delivery errands. However, unlike a conventional mail delivery service, the Green Riders could be called to fight as light calvary at anytime, wether it be brigands or the militias of rebellious lords. They are all trained in combat, some are even almost swordmasters themselves, and survival, as they never know what will happen on a message errand. Once released from training a new Rider is sent out with an experienced rider to shadow for their first errand.

Sacordia

The kingdom of Sacordia is home to 6 provinces and the capital of Sacor City, home of the country's current ruler Zachary Hillander. Small hamlets and villages are scattered throughout the kingdom. Founded at the end of the 100 year war, Jonas Sealander rose up and united the warring clans to create the kingdom of Sacordia and became the first king of Sacordia. The Green Riders have existed ever since.

Melrey has been with the Green Riders ever since, even though she herself isn't a Green Rider. Melrey will soon be attending the college in Selium.

Winged Horse Brooches

A pin worn over the heart, it's made from solid gold in the shape of a winged horse. The winged horse brooches are the badges of office and identify one as a Green Rider in His Majesty's messenger service. Unbeknownst to all accept His Majesty, the King's advisors, and the Green Riders themselves, these brooches contain a lost form of magic that makes the brooches bond with the wearer so that it can never be lost. However if a brooch no longer accepts the wearer, it 'abandons them' and the individual can no longer use this ability. In these cases the individual is either dead, or is free to leave the Green Riders.

Messenger Horses

The messenger horses of the Green Riders are unique. Through centuries of careful breading these horses are smarter, faster, and have more endurance than normal horses. They form strong bonds with their rider to the point that they'll do everything to protect their rider's physical and mental health. Much like a dog will do with a caring owner. The riders similarly will do the same for their horse, such is the strong bond that forms between horse and rider.
