Prologue

Following Japan's disappointing elimination from the World Cup, the Japan Football Association launches a radical project called Blue Lock. Its objective is to create the most selfish, talented, and lethal striker in the world, capable of leading the Japanese national team to victory in the world's premier international tournament. To this end, 300 young strikers from across the country are gathered at a secluded facility where they must compete against each other in a series of high-intensity tests and matches. Whoever succeeds will become Japan's future star striker; those who fail will forever lose the opportunity to represent the national team. Among the participants is Yoichi Isagi, a forward who begins to question his playing style and discovers that, to survive in Blue Lock, he must develop a fierce competitive instinct and find what makes him unique on the field. Blue Lock combines sporting action, psychological strategy and intense player rivalry, exploring the idea that success in elite football requires not only teamwork, but also extraordinary individual ambition.
