There are three types of fruits, the zoan, fruits that make you become an animal, logia, makes you intangible, unless you are very fast/over the light, so that the fruit does not react, paramecia, normal fruits, also, there are the extras, like the mythological ones, which are ancient from prehistory/primate, also, there is the awakening of the fruit, where you unlock all the knowledge and power of your devil fruit.
