The Geography of One Piece

Haki

Haki is a latent power that exists in all living beings. It represents a person's willpower and can be trained and awakened. There are three types. Observation Haki grants heightened perception, allowing users to sense the presence and strength of others. At its peak, it grants limited precognition, allowing the user to see a few seconds into the future. Armament Haki allows users to create invisible armor around parts of their body or weapons. It increases offensive and defensive power and is the primary method for bypassing Logia defenses and Devil Fruit-enhanced durability. Conqueror's Haki is a rare form that cannot be trained through practice; one must be born with it. It allows the user to overwhelm and knock out the weak-willed. It actively suppresses historical research and ruthlessly eliminates any threats to its power. The Empty Throne is located in the Holy Land of Mary Geoise. It was created to symbolize equality among the world's rulers, declaring that no single sovereign would rule over all. In reality, this is merely a facade. The Five Elders are the publicly acknowledged highest authority. They are the ultimate decision-makers on matters of justice, international affairs, and the suppression of information. Imu is a mysterious figure who actually sits on the Empty Throne and commands the obedience of the Five Elders. Imu is the true ruler of the world and appears to have lived for centuries. The Marines are the primary military branch, tasked with maintaining international law, suppressing piracy, and protecting civilians. They are led by the Fleet Admiral and three Admirals, who are immensely powerful fighters. Cipher Pol is a collection of intelligence agencies and secret police forces. CP9 are masters of assassination and espionage, while CP0 handles the most sensitive missions directly under the Five Elders. The Seven Warlords of the Sea (Shichibukai) was a system of powerful pirates allied with the Government, but it has been officially abolished. The World Government's dark side is evident in events like the Ohara Incident, where they destroyed an entire island of scholars and civilians with a devastating Buster Call for researching the forbidden Void Century. They also cover up events that would embarrass them, often crediting their own officers for victories actually achieved by pirates.
