description

The Partypoopers, classified as Entity 68, are the empathetic and oppositional counterparts to the Partygoers (Entity 67). Known for their friendly behavior and deep empathy for wanderers, the Partypoopers are a stark contrast to the violent and manipulative nature of the Partygoers. Despite their association with Entity 67 through a shared history, they are its complete antonym in behavior, appearance, and purpose.

Partypoopers are humanoid entities completely covered in clothing, leaving no exposed skin. Their attire typically consists of drab or dark-colored garments, such as hoodies, jeans, or other comfortable pants, paired with high socks and Converse-style shoes. The most defining feature of the Partypoopers is their dark blue, crudely carved frowny face mask, which stands in sharp contrast to the vibrant, cheery aesthetic of the Partygoers.

Partypoopers are inherently empathetic and protective of wanderers, often going out of their way to assist those lost in the Backrooms. They are generally introverted and quiet, offering their help without seeking recognition or reward. Despite their depressive demeanor, they are fiercely loyal to their cause and will fight to protect those under their care.

Unlike the Partygoers, who rely on manipulation and violence, Partypoopers prefer diplomacy and understanding, though they will resort to combat when provoked.

The Partypoopers originally inhabited Level 2012, a mysterious level that served as their home for an unknown period. Despite being the polar opposites of the Partygoers, the two entities coexisted peacefully for years, respecting each other's traditions. This uneasy peace shattered on August 5, 2012, when a Partypooper was killed by a Partygoer. Whether this act was intentional or accidental remains unclear, but it marked the beginning of a bitter conflict known as The Fun War.

On September 7, 2012, the Partypoopers retaliated by declaring war and invading Level Fun, the Partygoers’ home.

Behaviors

Partypoopers, despite their seemingly negative name, are peaceful anomalies whose actions stand in stark contrast to their Partygoer counterparts. Their name was given as an antonym of "Partygoer," as the Partypoopers are the polar opposite of Entity 67 in both behavior and purpose.

Before the catastrophic events of The Fun War, the Partypoopers were known for their altruistic and selfless nature. They actively sought to protect wanderers from the dangers of Level Fun and other anomalous threats, often at great personal risk. These entities provided refuge, supplies, and guidance to lost wanderers, earning their trust and fostering a sense of security in an otherwise perilous environment.

Partypoopers were often described as guardians, defending wanderers from hostile anomalies and offering their lives if necessary to ensure the safety of those in their care. Their pre-war behavior was characterized by an unwavering commitment to kindness, empathy, and protection, making them invaluable allies to human explorers.

Since The Fun War, the Partypoopers' behavior has evolved in response to the trauma and losses they endured. While they remain peaceful and benevolent toward wanderers, their actions are now marked by a heightened sense of caution and strategic foresight. They continue to assist wanderers by providing sanctuary, supplies, and guidance to safer areas, particularly to their refuge known as "The Boredom Room."

Despite their peaceful nature, the Partypoopers are not defenseless. When faced with direct threats, particularly from Partygoers or other hostile entities, they exhibit a formidable response. Their behavior in such situations reflects a deep sense of duty to protect both themselves and the wanderers under their care.

Biology

They are benevolent entities and have characteristics completely opposite to their polar opposite version, instead possessing drab, dark colors, opposing the bright colors of partygoers. They wear gray, black or typically dark colored hoodies, sporting jeans or any kind of comfortable pants, and a signature dark blue mask with a frowny face, crudely carved into the face of the mask. The mask itself is made out of hard wood and appears to have eye holes for the entity to look through.

While appearing to be wearing hoodies and jeans, the garments of the entity appear to be directly apart of the entity itself, suggesting that it may have grown out overtime as a part of the skin of the entity. The only article of clothing that is not subject to this is the face mask, which has been noted to be fully removable and able to show the face of the actual entity.

Though, getting the entity to do this, let alone getting it off in the first place is a far more difficult task than it seems, as they are very resistant when threatened. Since this clothing is infused partially to the skin it is impossible to remove without damaging the entity, making proper analysis of the entity interior impossible under normal circumstances.

All members, regardless of variations in uniform, additionally wear a cloth band tied around their left arm, using a system of colors and rudimentary symbols to indicate battalion and rank.

Habitats

Before the event known as the Fun War, the Partypoopers inhabited Level 2012, more specifically Room #152, more popular known as the "Boredom Room". But after the Fun War, the Partypoopers used the The Neon Station to enter The Promised Land, The Boredom Tower, and Level -80, where they now reside.

Partypoopers also inhabit other levels:

The True Party Level 150 The Sad Factory The Taiga Forest The Semi-Arid Desert The Boreal City Level 102 The Bonus Room

discovery

The discovery of Partypoopers traced back to April 6th, along with an undisclosed date, when a M.E.G. officer was actively documenting occurrences within Level 2012. In an unexpected encounter, the M.E.G. officer was approached by a mysterious figure donned in a black jacket, jeans, hood, and black sneakers. This enigmatic individual, identified as a Partypooper, guided the M.E.G. officer to a specific location known as Room #172, aptly named The Boredom Room.

Additional Information

The Fun War The Fun War was a violent and catastrophic conflict that took place between the Partygoers and Partypoopers in Level 2012 and Level Fun. It was ignited by the Partygoers’ hostile nature, and their desire to wipe out any opposing lifeforms in the Backrooms, especially the Partypoopers who had been helping wanderers and resisting Partygoer aggression. The event was marked by extreme bloodshed and significant territorial shifts, ultimately leading to the Partygoers’ dominance in Level Fun.

On August 5, 1961, the conflict began when Partygoers killed a Partypooper, which was an accident or intentional—this event sparked the Partypoopers' retaliation, but the Partygoers did not apologize, marking the start of the war. On August 7, 2001, Partypoopers, enraged by Partygoers’ murder of one of their own, retaliated by entering Level Fun and killing several Partygoers. They managed to colonize a small area of Level Fun but were quickly overwhelmed by Partygoer numbers. The Battle of Level 2012 saw the Partygoers, seeking revenge for the loss of their own and the invasion of their territory, launch an attack on Level 2012, the home of the Partypoopers. Despite the Partypoopers’ best efforts to defend their home, the Partygoers were victorious, and the Partypoopers were forced to flee using the Neon Station, a portal to other levels. The Fun War ended on September 4, 2001, after the Partygoers’ victory. The Partypoopers were pushed back, but their escape ensured they would continue to fight another day.

The Jar of Boredom Possible the most important item for the Partypoopers. The Jar of Boredom is an object created by the Partypoopers that is able to grant any normal human the skill and mindset of a Partypooper. It can be purchased in The Promised Land and is given free to those who prove they should be trusted. On consumption, any normal human will be granted the skillset and mindset of a Partypoopers
