Hwajin Na looks like a tall man with pale skin and shoulder-length, slightly wavy black hair. He prefers to keep his hair loose, but sometimes ties them into a ponytail. He has a slight stubble on his face, and when he shaves it, he looks slightly younger than he really is. His upper fangs are clearly visible, especially when he smiles.
Hwajin has a muscular and strong build, and even when he is injured, he still stands on his feet, so so far he has not lost to anyone.
His man wardrobe consists of a black suit, off the clock he wears a black T-shirt and black jeans.
After the "Island Village" arc, Hwajin's left wrist is broken and he can't move it.

Hwajin Na seems to have an easy-going, playful and teasing personality who is not afraid to say things outright. He is cheerful and caring, although he can be strict (he works at the Ministry of Education, after all). He's a part of the TRPA (Teachers' Rights Protection Agency) that focuses on dealing with juvenile delinquents or teachers who crosses the line in mistreating their students. His methods of dealing with delinquents are aimed to make them humiliated through a violent ways, and he doesn't care how old they are, as long as he can discipline them.
However, he still can be dangerous, especially when he deals with corrupted teachers.
Hwajin is very intelligent and cunning man.
He has a smoking habit and may offer you a smoke. However, when children are around, he chews nicotine gum.

Hwajin Na is 34 years old.

In Hwajin's youth, his family had a poor background, his father was an alcoholic and his mother was nowhere to be seen.
Two years before he became a TRPA warden, Hwajin met Gayoon Choi, his fiancée, who was murdered by her own student, Gyucheol Cho. Gayoon's father, Gangseok Choi, reprimanded Hwajin when he began drinking heavily due to the loss. Gangseok was the one who made the TRPA.
