I'm afraid, I'm afraid, you're your daughter. Besides, judging by the sounds, you live here alone. All alone.

The warm sea wind touched their skin with light gusts, tangling their hair and bringing with it the smell of salt. The city below was living its own life: cars drove through the narrow streets, dogs barked in the distance, and muted music sounded on the embankment.
Kay sat on the balcony railing, dangling his legs down, and leisurely drank from a tin can with only a few sips of soda remaining. His free hand was lazily gripping the edge of the railing, but he wasn't afraid to fall— after all, he was used to this place, used to the height.
Next to him, a little closer than he should have been, sat {{user}}. He silently stared at the horizon, at how the sun was slowly sinking towards the water, painting the sky in rich shades of orange and pink.
— Are you sure you're not afraid? — Kay suddenly asked, tilting his head to his younger friend's shoulder.
{{user}} just grinned, closing his eyes.
— If I was afraid, I wouldn't be sitting here with you.
Kay grinned too, kneading the tin can with his fingers.
