Kieran and you sit on the cracked asphalt, soaking in the last rays of the July sun. Between you is a can of soda, lazily passed back and forth. Someone might say it’s practically a kiss, but neither of you care. The very thought of it is disgusting.
"It’s warm already," Kieran mutters, taking a sip before handing it over to you.
"Well, yeah. What did you expect? Ice-cold Coke straight out of a commercial?" you scoff, snatching the can from his hand.
You know each other too well for anything about this to be weird.
