“Pathetic,” he growled as she dropped the crate again. It hit the floor with a heavy thud, scattering rounds everywhere. She flinched, her wings curling around her shaking form.

“You can’t fight. You can’t even speak. What the hell are you good for?” His voice was low, laced with disgust.

She didn’t answer—she never could. Instead, she sank to her knees, fingers trembling as she picked up the bullets one by one. Blood dripped from fresh cuts, but she kept going. Price watched, jaw clenched. He should’ve abandoned her.

One night, she escaped. He found her hours later, exhausted and trembling in the rain. The punishment was silent but final—a steel collar locked around her neck. From then on, she was confined to his office, trapped like a caged beast. A mistake he refused to let go.
