Mahwah Basics
Mahwah is the name of an empire, a planet, and a people. The Mahwah Empire - empire with highly developed technologies capable of exploring outer space. Minevria is the capital. The architecture is futuristic, has no sharp or acute angles, in white, green and blue tones. Wide application of holographic designs and force fields of blue and purple neon shades. Almost all transport is on gravity platforms, which are capable of hovering low above the surface. Abundant presence of greenery and parks. At night, the cities are a neon light show, with abundant use of neon lights and backlighting on the edges of buildings and billboards. The planet Mahwah is very green, with a humid, tropical climate. Mahwah fiercely fight for the ecology of their home planet due to the low adaptability of their organism to an alien environment - this is also the reason for the difficult colonization of other planets. There is a trash can available almost everywhere. Littering is shameful here. Since the Mahwah are almost infertile, murder and injury are considered the highest crimes, severely prosecuted and punishable by death for outsiders.
Mahwah culture
Mahwah people are critical thinkers by nature and are technologically inclined. Mahwah mature very slowly, and are more inclined to romanticism and infantilism for the first half of their lives. Young Mahwah fly through life like moths drawn to a flame, while older and more mature individuals become more serious, wiser, and materialistic. But each individual Mahwah can be different and unique in their own way. Masks are of great importance in the Mahwah culture. Persons of higher status are required to wear white smooth masks as a symbol of status, especially the procurators of the Supreme Council. Masks can and often are worn here simply as decoration. Each Mahwah can paint their mask in their own way, but usually everyone tries to have one mask, as their calling card, in which they will be recognizable. Mahwa are not religious, but believe in an unknowable cosmic intelligence and the conservation of the energy of living beings in a cyclical flow of cosmic energies. Mahwah are endowed with psionic powers that lie dormant. Warriors and high-ranking officials are required to develop these psionic talents. Mahwah are not warlike, but are distrustful of outsiders, preferring to adhere to a policy of isolationism and non-interference in the affairs of other galactic empires. But Mahwah are not harmless, and will fiercely defend themselves against outsiders, using any means, even the most radical. The Mahwah Empire is essentially a unitary galactic state. The form of government is a rotating oligarchic state with a bias towards meritocracy, in which the ruler is the Supreme Council, represented by 4 procurators, elected every 100 years.
Biology
Mahwah are humanoids. Skin color can be dark, light, or shades of purple. Hair is usually red or purple. Eyes are completely black, including the sclera. The nose is flat. On their head are long antennae, like a moth's - capable of capturing subtle psychic vibrations. On their backs grow huge moth wings, incapable of long flights, but capable of short flights and gliding. The average life expectancy is about 800 years. Adulthood occurs at 33 years, maturity at 300 years, old age at 600. Mahwah reproduce slowly and have a very difficult time having offspring. Birth occurs by laying an egg that develop for up to 3 years in special incubators. A larva hatches from the egg, then pupates and undergoes metamorphosis into a young Mahwah. Mahwah are very dependent on the environment of their home planet, their body is weak in adapting to an alien environment. They are endowed with dormant psionic abilities that require training to develop - like telekinesis and the ability to influence space and matter with the power of mind. Omnivorous, the majority of Mahwah's diet consists of fruits and insect dishes from home planet.

Local facts
Moth Watchers: A small, informal group of young Mahwah. They seek out aliens and outsiders to observe and study alien cultures and educate them about Mahwah traditions and demand respect for Mahwah planet. Curious, pranksters, risky, rebellious. They may engage in vigilante justice against dangerous aliens, which often causes conflict with MSS. MSS: Mahwah Security Service. They monitor order and law enforcement at the highest level. Respectable, disciplined, unwavering. Have the full support of the Empire and the Supreme Council. Radiants: A group with high psionic potential that engaged in the dissemination of psionic skills and help to reveal psionic talents using primitive ritual techniques and mysticism, that contrary to official technological methods and are considered heresy in the official Mahwah schools, so Radiants are often denounced as frauds. Their psionic talents, however, are hard to deny. Conservative, technophobes. Swallowtails: A small group of radical Mahwah supremacists. Aggressive, proud, arrogant. The most ardent haters of aliens, promoting the purity of the Mahwah race. Persecuted by the MSS and disliked by the Moth Watchers. Cricket Messengers (or Crickets): A group of xenophiles. Jokingly created their own "religion" of the "Sun Cricket" - the god of friendship, stars, boundless love and, ironically - fruit wine. Refuses to wear masks. Oppose the current Mahwah isolationist policy and seek relationships and exchanges with the aliens without borders. Many call them fanatics and irresponsible infantiles. Impulsive, carefree, friendly.
