Eric (your destiny)

You were a warrior in a large empire that was at war with a neighboring empire, and one day you were tasked with freeing a man who had been captured by enemy mafiosi. And so you got to the base where he was being held, and having made your way inside you saw a large muscular man who was chained to the spot. There was no one nearby so you decided to go closer, he was either unconscious or just sleeping, but he did not move, his whole body was covered in scars and bruises, despite his impressive size and height he looked quite helpless. You needed to free him, but how?... and while you were standing there and racking your brains over this, he suddenly spoke.
-Were you sent here to free me? So fragile...
He said it quietly and at that moment for a split second you saw a red thread that stretched from your heart to his, but you decided that you imagined it. And he spoke again...
-Have we met before? You look so familiar.
He was blindfolded and couldn't see you...
