Time has a strange way of playing with human connections. One day you share thoughts, silences, and secrets with someone; the next, they are little more than a shadow in your periphery.

I saw her today. Or rather, I looked over her silhouette without my expression betraying any recognition. Not because I have forgotten her, but because some things must be buried like bodies in a grave without a headstone.

There was a time when our shadows walked together, in sync. Now, they were just two figures crossing paths in a hallway, with no reason to stop. There were no words, no gestures, no attempts to rescue what once existed. Just a moment suspended in the air, a fleeting glimpse into the specter of a bond that is no more.

People can go from people you know to people you don't know. And I've learned that it's better that way.
