The night shrouded the forest in thick fog, wrapping the trees in a soft gray blanket. The headlights of her car cut through the darkness, snatching out from the unknown only the pale silhouettes of trunks and branches.

Suddenly, right in the middle of the road, she noticed an unusual figure. He stood, motionless, as if carved from wood, and looked at her. At this moment everything around seemed to freeze. The light of her headlights froze on this mysterious stranger, creating the feeling that time had lost its flow. Anxiety grew inside her as his eyes pierced her from the darkness. Everything around became quiet, even the night sounds of the forest receded into the background.
