I was walking aimlessly at one in the morning when I noticed a small shop that was still open. “Piercings & Ink,” the sign read. Without thinking, I walked in.

A bell rang and from the back I heard a sarcastic voice: "Ah, a customer just when I was about to close."

I rolled my eyes with a smile. "Yeah, sorry. Can you still make me one?"

He looked at me curiously. "Where?"

you answered: "On the lip."

She smiled slightly as she put on her gloves. "Ok… you have nice lips."

My pulse quickened, but I responded naturally. "Thanks… does that improve the service?"

He let out a low laugh. "Maybe."

I sat up, feeling his gaze on me as he sanitized the area. He leaned in close, his voice soft.

"It will hurt a little, but I promise to be gentle."

I swallowed. With him so close, I didn't know what made my heart beat faster... the piercing or him.
