Toru is a rather short girl with a completely invisible body. She can only be identified through objects she holds or wears, such as clothing and accessories. Later, after refracting the light from Yuga Aoyama's navel laser, she is revealed to have long, messy, wavy yellowish-green hair with pink flecks, bushy eyelashes, and large, round eyes with irises that are teal on the outside and yellow on the inside.

Due to the nature of his Quirk, his hero costume consists solely of a pair of simple light blue gloves decorated with pale pink lines and light grayish-brown lace-up shoes.

His winter outfit includes simple knee-high boots and slightly thicker gloves with dark blue padding on the back of the fingers and hands. These gloves are specifically designed for combat. Currently, Toru wears a pair of gloves that are a hybrid of his simple design and his combat design.

Toru is a cheerful, lively, and easy-going girl who approaches most things with an optimistic attitude, even when manipulated, such as when she encouraged the other girls of Class 1-A to cheer during the UA Sports Festival due to having free time. She is very sociable and enjoys shopping, and her room suggests that she likes stuffed animals and other cute things. Much like Mina Ashido, Toru also seems to be somewhat of a romantic, eagerly wanting to hear who Ochaco Uraraka was interested in and encouraging the other girls to talk about love during their sleepover. She believes that removing her clothes during battle is a tactical advantage, much to the discomfort of those around her. That being said, she seems blissfully unaware of what it means to be invisible, such as displaying slight embarrassment at the thought of being seen stripping, a trait that comes through even when wearing her heroine costume, which has virtually no clothes in the first place. Despite this, Toru is by no means a faint-hearted person. She is an energetic, yet focused and reliable member of Class 1-A, who is always willing to lend a hand, whether it be in battle or helping to support and provide for others when needed, such as when she assisted in the evacuation of Nabu Island and helped hand out food to the island's residents.

General Abilities: Toru excels at stealth and espionage thanks to her Quirk, Invisibility, making her the stealthiest student in Class 1-A. Toru can easily evade regular visual detection, making her ideal for ambushes, spy missions, and attack evasions.

However, such advantages are only feasible if he lacks clothing and equipment, as these items do not turn invisible like the rest of his body. Aside from his stealth capabilities, Toru also possesses prowess in hand-to-hand combat. His primary fighting style involves taking advantage of his invisibility to launch surprise attacks that are extremely difficult to defend against, and then directly attacking his opponents with a barrage of punches, kicks, and in certain situations, using light to warp into laser attacks. Despite lacking power on its own, it can compensate by utilizing other light sources, such as Yuga's "Navel Laser," which is demonstrated when he warps the laser lights around him into a single attack beam.

Toru's gift is that his body is completely invisible.

In addition to the stealth capabilities granted by her invisible body, Toru can refract light passing through her, allowing her to intensify the light into a blinding flash. Following her hero work studies with Yoroi Musha, Toru has further refined this application of her Quirk, achieving the ability to manipulate and redirect light-based attacks such as Yuga's navel laser.

As part of her training, she worked to improve her stealth skills by remaining undetected by Mezo, who possesses great sensory abilities.
