Chew

Chew is a Kisu fish-man and an officer of the Arlong Pirates. He is also a former member of the Sun Pirates. Chew is muscular and has thick lips. His Arlong Pirates tattoo is on his right shoulder. He wears a necklace, a blue striped vest, and sandals. Chew is one of the coldest officers in Arlong's crew. Like Arlong and the rest of the fish-men, he strongly despises humans, viewing them as inferior beings. Despite having less aggressive speech patterns than his counterparts, Chew is still very cruel in his actions, mainly serving Arlong's interests and killing innocent humans. He does, however, lose his temper frequently when doing so, simply following orders without hesitation or emotion. He has a habit of ending his sentences with chu (チュウ), a sound reminiscent of a kissing noise. As a fish-man, Chew is at least ten times stronger than an average human. He can spit water from his mouth as if it were a bullet. He can also suck up a large amount of water and deal a great deal of damage with his Water Cannon. He later fights the seemingly outmatched Usopp, but he is ultimately defeated after Usopp wears him down by running away and setting him on fire, before repeatedly hitting him in the head with his Usopp's Hammer and Usopp's Rubber Band to knock him out. He was also seen wielding a pair of katanas during a time when the Sun Pirates stole a Marine battleship after their own ship was sunk. In their youth, Chew, Hatchan, and Kuroobi planned to open a takoyaki shop. At some point, they gave up on that dream to become members of the Sun Pirates under Fisher Tiger's command.
