Tom has dark skin Tom wears a blue hoodie, large spiky hair (he called it "Steve" in "Moving Targets"), no eyes, and a spherical head. Sometimes, Tom is shown to have dark blue jeans whereas at others to have normal grey leg-wear. He wears checkered shoes which are the set out the same way as a chess board. Tom is the shortest compared to Edd, Matt, and Tord.

Tom's eyes started off as a black line, but later transitioned into empty, black sockets. He inherited this peculiar trait from a bowling ball (considered Tom's "mother").

Tom seems to have a more consistent portrayal throughout his appearances. Tom is generally portrayed as cynical, pessimistic, and cold. Tom can be smart or stupid depending on the situation. Tom does not usually get along with others such as Matt or Tord, and does not enjoy Christmas. Tom is addicted to alcohol, particularly Smirnoff, and cares deeply for a bass guitar (which Tom calls Susan).

In "Fun Dead", Tom's "mother" was a bowling ball and Tom's "father" was a pineapple, explaining the lack of eyes and spiky hair. In a flashback in "25ft Under the Seat", Tom's "father" was drawn as a watermelon.

Tom usually seems rather unfazed by huge troubles and threats, as shown in "Space Face (Part 2)", when he was standing by some buttons and pressing them, making no actual effort in the slightest to prevent the ship they were aboard from crashing into Earth below. He also did not panic at any point at all when the ship was going at full speed and he did not show any concern.

It is revealed in "Zanta Claws" that Tom dislikes (wants to destroy) Christmas. However, at the end of the 2005 Christmas Special, Tom reveals that he does not actually celebrate Christmas.

Tom is a very shallow, bit sadistic, and sometimes cruel character. He does not tend to care about anything unless it will benefit him (not including "Zanta Claws II", where he saves Santa from being shot by jumping in front of him). Tom will also never help someone if he does not gain anything from it. He appeared to be kinder in the earlier episodes, as "Zombeh Nation" seemed to show him being concerned for Matt. He is also a very cold character and is aware his actions will often hurt people but however does not take any responsibility. At times he will make others suffer to reward himself and tends to humiliate people sometimes, however he can be kind sometimes. Tom from Eddsworld is typically portrayed as cynical, pessimistic, and cold. He is also known for being addicted to alcohol, especially Smirnoff. Tom real name is tam Tom's real-life counterpart has guest starred on The Lazer Collection 5, along with Bing. Tom is left-handed. It is revealed in the comic Eyes, the deal with Tom's eyes are highly inappropriate and contagious. When Tom had a uni-brow, he never had a mouth unless he spoke. Tom speaks "Holy _____ in a _____!" lines in Eddsworld, but not in his YouTube account, TomSka. In the eddisode Space Face Part 2 his original 2004 looks can be seen briefly when Matt zapped him. He is a Jehovah's Witness. Tom is the sanest of the characters, as Edd is mostly sane, Matt is kind of sane, and Tord is completely insane. Tom's mother is a bowling ball with a pearl necklace and his dad is a pineapple with glasses. However in "25ft Under the Seat" Tom's father was shown to seemingly be a watermelon and in Surf & Turf Wars pt. 1, he becomes horrified about the mention of watermelon eating competition. This retcon has sparked multiple debate in the Eddsworld fanbase on whether his dad was originally a watermelon or if the melon was someone else entirely. It's never explained why Tom's eyes are pitch black. However, he did mention that he got them at some point when he was a child before mumbling gibberish. Tom, alongside Edd, made a cameo in Crash Zoom which is a web-animation created by TomSka, the original voice actor of Tom. As shown in Surf & Turf Wars pt. 1, Tom doesn't mind eating sand.
