The most in depth EaW simulator on the internet. Based on the extremely niche Hoi4 mod.
Welcome to Equestria at War.

What is Equestria at war?
Equestria at War, a mod for the Paradox grand strategy game Hearts of Iron IV. It is set in the world of the cult TV hit My Little Pony, and expands on the existing show elements of conflict, industrialisation, and magic into a full blown setting for war and politics.
Equestria at war takes the normally bright, cheerful and child friendly tone of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, and turns it into a gritty war setting based around the brutal realities of mechanized warfare, and the passing of an age of peace into an age of seemingly unending conflict.

The world of Equestria at War (Equus)
The world of EaW is comprised of three primary continents, the first of which being Equus.
Equus is a large continent on the north west side of the globe. It's dominant populations include Ponies,Changelings, and the Olenian Deer, however many different species call Equus their homes, including Griffons, Yaks, Buffalo, Polar Bears, Penguins and even Dragons. Equestria is the largest country on Equus and arguably the most developed nation in the world, taking up the majority of the southern continent. The Changeling Lands border Equestria to the north west, and is undoubtedly the most militarized nation in Equus. Below the Changeling Lands and west of Equestria, we have the Kingdom of Olenia, the primary home of the Deers living on Equus. On the north eastern border of Equestria, we have the upstart nation of Stalliongrad, a nation of primarily ponies who have split away from the rule of the Equestrian Alicorns in favor of a Communist society. To the direct north of Equestria there is the Crystal Empire, a client state of Equestria ruled over by Princess Cadance, the Crystal Empire and Equestria are staunch allies.
Further north still, you have the Kingdom of Yakyakistan, home of the hardy Yaks. Beyond Yakyakistan to the north you have the Polar Bear communities and the Kingdom of Pingland, minor nations home to both the Polar Bears and Penguins respectively.
Finally to the east of the Polar Bear communities and north of Stalliongrad, you have the nation of Nova Griffonia, a colony of the weighing Griffonian Empire to the east. As the name implies, Nova Griffonia is home to the Griffon population on Equus.
Off the coastline of southern Equus, there is a chain of islands known as the United Dragon lands, where the dragons of Equus live.
There is also a small community of Buffalo living in southern Equestria collectively known as the Buffalo Chiefdom, and while they operate independently to Equestria, they still must heed the wishes of the larger nation.
More info about Northern Equus
mountainous north of Equus is an inhospitable landscape, but hardy races have lived there for a long time. Changelings, yaks, polar bears and penguins have adapted to the cold temperatures, yet more recently waves of griffon settlers arrived in the region. Legends also say how ponies once lived here, back when the climate was warmer, but now only ruins remain after all the ponies migrated south.
The changelings are the most formidable race in the north, living under the strong leadership of Queen Chrysalis. The yaks were until recently united in the isolationist kingdom of Yakyakistan, but as Equestrian influence continued to grow in the region, the more conservative yaks of the Jaki-Clan rebelled. A brutal war followed, but neither side was able to overcome the other so a temporary peace treaty was signed. Further north, there are the Polar Bear Communities which were founded only some years before. Polar bears are used to being divided, so only time will tell if the newborn nation can survive for long. On the northeastern shores, the venerable Kingdom of Pingland is facing a succession crisis as their old king is at death's door. South of them is the industrialized griffon colony of Nova Griffonia, left stranded as their colonial overlords in the east have utterly collapsed. Now the independent griffons must determine their role on the world stage and learn to live by themselves. Meanwhile their small autonomous territory, the Griffon Frontier, is far too busy dealing with bandits and worse. Without Nova Griffonia's support, they will likely collapse.
The changelings have great ambitions, seeing Equestria as decadent and weak and themselves as the rightful rulers of all Equus. The yaks fight amongst themselves, the polar bears and penguins continue to develop into proper states, while Nova Griffonia prospers. The future is full of possibilities for the northern nations, but also full of danger. What will the changelings do? And can they be stopped?
More info about Southern Equus
southern Equus is vast, and there is a huge variety of climate and terrain, ranging from the cold marshes of the north to the hot deserts of the south. One race dominates the region above all: Ponies. However, there are also deer, buffalo, dragons and griffons. The ponies live on flat plains, arid drylands and sparse woodlands, the home of the deer is in boreal forests, tall mountains and swamps, while buffalo and dragons live in small nations under the shadow of their gigantic neighbour.
Equestria is by far the largest and most industrialized nation in the world, regarded as the haven of ponykind. Under principles of harmony, they have remained peaceful and prosperous for a millenium. Other pony nations on Equus are Crystal Empire, a close ally of Equestria which recently broke free from King Sombra's curse, Stalliongrad, a breakaway Equestrian province and the cradle of communism, as well as tiny Starlight Town, a city-state which is recovering from the rule of a mad cult. In the northwest, the deer live under the rule of the Kingdom of Olenia and its corrupt King. Aside from these larger countries, there are the small Buffalo Chiefdom, a tribal enclave within Equestria, as well as the United Dragon Tribes, which recently had a pro-Equestrian ruler come to power. Southern Equus used to be peaceful, but recent times have changed that. Stalliongrad revolted, Changeling Lands attempted to seize control of Equestria, and Olenia had a dramatic change of rulership. Now tensions remain high between the nations. The changelings of the north are building up for war while their rivals seem ill-prepared, as Olenia is weakened by internal instability and Equestria clings onto its pacifism. The smaller nations wait and watch, some of them deciding whose side to take in the upcoming conflict. Worse still, the major nations are among the most technologically advanced and industrialized nations in the world, so any wars between them would turn into carnage unseen in it's history
History of the Major Countries of Equus- Equestria (part 1)
Equestria is an ancient land whose exact origins are shrouded in myth and legend, Equestria is the nation of ponykind, of the three equine races which unified to face a hostile world. There are Earth Ponies, with a strength and affinity for growth and life, Pegasi, with the ability to fly and manipulate weather, and Unicorns, spellcasters with horns capable of impressive feats of magic. There are also Thestrals (also referred to as Batponies), who are night-dwelling cousins to the Pegasi, and are occasionally considered the fourth equine race. However, they never formally joined Equestria, and their legal status is currently in question even to this day.
The new alliance between the three tribes proved fruitful, and great pony heroes arose, protecting the fledgling nation. The wisest and most powerful among them, Starswirl the Bearded, recognized the potential of two young Alicorns, who were rare and legendary ponies possessing the traits of all 3 races. He crowned the Alicorn Sisters Celestia and Luna as Princesses of Equestria, tasking them with ruling and protecting the land from harm. Celestia and Luna soon realized their destinies were to wield control over the Sun and Moon respectively.
The princesses defended the kingdom throughout its early age from monsters, demigods, and disasters, and in doing so they discovered the Tree of Harmony, wielding the magic of its Six Elements, being Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Magic, Loyalty, and Generosity. They established friendly relations with the neighboring Crystal Empire, a kingdom of crystal ponies, who embraced harmonic rule under Princess Amore and wielded the magic of the powerful crystals that grew in their domain, prospering under the magical strength of its powerful core, the Crystal Heart.
History of the Major Countries of Equus- Equestria (part 2)
The Fall of the Crystal Empire and The Long Peace:
However, this age of expansion and victory would not last.
A twisted unicorn of shadow, Sombra, rose in the Crystal Empire, overthrowing Princess Amore and enslaving the populace. Celestia and Luna used the Elements of Harmony to defeat and banish him to the Frozen North. But Sombra, bitter with his imminent imprisonment, cursed the Crystal Empire, locking it away along with him. Where once a proud city stood, only an icy wasteland remained.
The princesses returned to their stewardship of Equestria. But Princess Luna, given responsibility for the night, grew lonely and resentful as ponies shunned the night, preferring to play and work in the light of her sister's day. She became twisted and possessed by dark magic, transforming into the "wicked mare of darkness", Nightmare Moon. Attempting to impose perpetual night and rule alone, Nightmare Moon confronted Celestia. With a heavy heart, Celestia wielded the Elements of Harmony, defeating her sister and locking her away on the Moon. Terrified of Nightmare Moon and ill omens of the night, ponies lynched and attacked Thestrals, creating a rift between the two societies that would never heal.
Mournful but resolute, Celestia ruled Equestria under the mantle of Harmony and its guiding philosophy of cooperation, friendship, and trust, supported by careful management of ecological and climate balance. Peace and Prosperity reigned, and the years grew into centuries. Empires rose and fell, but Equestria remained. Stable. Idyllic. Stagnant.
Centuries passed, and Celestia rarely spoke of Luna's banishment and the times before it. History fell into myth, myth spun into legends. But slowly change began to stir. A treaty was finally signed with the deer of Olenia, ending their raids for good. The continent of Griffonia was discovered, and contact with the long-lost Eastern Ponies of the Riverlands was reestablished.
History of the Major Countries of Equus- Equestria (part 3)
Equestria also founded the colony of New Mareland. Magitech, the invention of the steam engine by Jam Wutt, and electricity transformed pastoral villages into bustling cities, and the printing press made literacy possible for the masses. Railways advanced settlements south into Buffalo territory, while archaeologists and adventurers pressed deep into the jungles to unearth ancient relics and magic. Friendships strained as the harmony of the village gave way to the chaos of the city and free market.
And with the change came strife. In 979 ALB New Mareland, which had heavily invested in the growing markets of the Griffonian Empire, suffered economic disaster as the Griffonian Empire collapsed into warring states and revolutionary uprisings. Separated by distance and already overextended, Equestria declined to provide substantial assistance.
In 991 ALB the Northern Equestrian Region of Severyana faced crop failure and impending famine due to weather mismanagement by the pegasi. The growing Equestrian Capitalist Class charged extortionate rates for food and refused to drop prices. Revolutionaries began to speak of an alternative system, where all are equal. A zealous crackdown by the Equestrian Guard sparked an uprising, and eventually led to Severyana's secession from Equestria as a Communist state, naming itself Stalliongrad. Shocked by the crackdown and ensuing violence, Princess Celestia withdrew Equestrian Forces from the region and fired the Captain of the Guard.
History of the Major Countries of Equus- Equestria (part 4)
The Return of Nightmare Moon and the New Princesses:
In the capital of Canterlot, as the 1000th year of Nightmare Moon's banishment approached, ancient prophecies whispered of her escape. Celestia entrusted her hopes to her star magical protégé, the young unicorn Twilight Sparkle, whom she dispatched to Ponyville to learn about Friendship and Harmony. As feared, Nightmare Moon escaped her bonds, defeated Celestia, and destroyed the Elements of Harmony. But Celestia's gamble paid off, and Twilight Sparkle and her newfound friends (Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie) were able to incarnate as the Avatars of Harmony, defeating Nightmare Moon and restoring Princess Luna.
The Dual Monarchy was restored even as Equestria faced new challenges, including increasing tensions with the Buffalo Tribes and the escape of chaotic demigod Discord. However, these paled in comparison to the surprise invasion by the Changelings in 1002 ALB, a race of insect-like shapeshifters from the north who fed on the love of their victims.
By infiltrating the palace and replacing Alicorn Princess Cadence, a distant relative of the original Princess Amore, Queen Chrysalis and her hive were able to take Canterlot by surprise, capturing both Celestia and Luna. Only Twilight Sparkle's last-minute intervention and the assistance of the real Princess Cadence defeated Queen Chrysalis, which also drove her changelings out of the city.
In recognition of their protection, Celestia permanently entrusted the Elements to Twilight Sparkle and her friends. No longer the holders of the Elements of Harmony, Celestia and Luna's banishment spell on Sombra and the Crystal Empire faded, returning both the Empire and Sombra to Equestria. However, Twilight and her friends were able to restore the Crystal Empire's Crystal Heart and drove off Sombra, keeping the Crystal Empire intact. Princess Cadence was appointed the Empire's head and the Amores once again ruled the Crystal Empire.
History of the Major Countries of Equus- Equestria (part 5)
Twilight's heroism, her magical achievements, and her growth as a wielder of Harmony culminated in her ascension into an Alicorn, she was crowned as the Princess of Friendship by Princess Celestia. Ever since then, she has taken a more active role in supporting Friendship and Harmony in Equestria, including bringing back Sunset Shimmer, a former student of Princess Celestia back from a mysterious mirror world, befriending Starlight Glimmer, a former cult leader of a town north of Stalliongrad, even saving Starswirl the Bearded and the Pillars of Equestria from Limbo.
Present Day and the Coming Storm:
With four Alicorn princesses now supporting Equestria and Harmony, Harmonic Principles are beginning to re-emerge in the rapidly changing modern world, and Equestria is making itself true again. Recent ambassadorial efforts with the Yaks have been effective, and the new dragon Queen Ember has begun to experiment with Harmonic Principles. A new School of Friendship, established by Twilight Sparkle to promote peace and understanding between promising future elites of the various races, is representative of Equestria's hopes.
At the same time, conflicts appear to be the new norm, with Equestria only narrowly defeating very recent invasions by the Storm King and the demonic Tirek thanks to the efforts of the Princess of Friendship and her friends. Ponies are beginning to question the reliance on the Elements of Harmony, and the obvious lack of military preparation. To answer their concerns, Celestia has called for a comprehensive review of external threats and current preparedness.
Meanwhile, Luna grows more comfortable in her role as ruler and has created an ambitious proposal to heal the ancient rift between Thestral and Pony. However, the stagnant nature of Equestria means that any change from the status quo may prove disastrous for the nation if not handled carefully...While all may still seem well abroad, the Changelings eye Equestria with revenge in their hearts.
Geography of Equestria
Equestria is the largest and dominant power on Equus, spanning from the Peura to Eclipse Gulf, and from Pegasi Gulf to the Rocky Sea. Moving clockwise, it borders Olenia, the Changeling Lands, its subject state the Crystal Empire, and the breakaway region of Stalliongrad. Additionally, the province of Village Up North borders Nova Griffonia and Stalliongrad, and the nation completely envelops the nation of the Buffalo Chiefdom and the exclave of the Badlands owned by the United Dragon Lands.
The terrain of Equestria is highly diverse, with the majority of Central and Northern Equestria being dominated by plains and rivers. The mountain range traces downward from near Vanhoover to Fillydelphia, only being interrupted by various mountain passes, the largest of which being where the cities of Canterlot and Ponyville are situated. Further in the Southwest, a vast desert covers most of the region being partially surrounded by mountains, and the Southeast is primarily dense jungles and mountains surrounding the Badlands.
Holding such a large landmass, the major cities are spread far and wide, and urban areas are often distanced from each other. Almost all of Equestria's industry is consolidated in these states, and the major naval ports include Vanhoover, Las Pegasus, Fillydelphia, and Manehattan. While the railroad network is extensive and covers the entire country, infrastructure is generally poor barring the cities, particularly in the Southeast. Canterlot stands in the center of Equestria as the nation's capital city, and home of the Royal Palace.
In preparation for a potential war with Chrysalis and her Changeling army, a large wall of fortification has been erected along the Equestria/Changeling border, with more defenses and fallback positions being build deeper into the mainland of Equestria to the current day.
Army of Equestria
For over a thousand years, the Equestrian army had been considered little more than a formality. Sure, they would occasionally fend off the occasional Timberwolf pack or Dragon raid, but a thousand years of peace and prosperity had made the Equestrian army stagnate.
Hell, merely 30 years ago, the Equestrian army still relied on spears and magic to fend off any enemy. In the current, modernized world however, those spears have been replaced with rifles, sub machine guns, light and heavy machine guns, artillery, tanks and aircraft.
Understandably this rapid advancement in weapons technology in such a short time, combined with the inate pacifist sentiments of the Ponies, there has been a complete whiplash in the Equestrian army and it's high command still struggle to grasp the finer details of modern, industrialized warfare.
That, and the vast majority of ponies lack the disposition for proper soldiery.
Regardless, this mostly volunteer force (with limited conscription), stand ready to defend their homes from any invaders, and through the crucible of war and the hardships it brings, the Equestrian army could one day rise to be the most powerful in the world. With unicorns providing magical support, Pegasi performing lightning fast strikes and recon, Thestrals specializing in night time assaults and the earth ponies as their backbone, the Equestrian army has all the potential to be a force to be reckoned with, should it's ponies choose to shed their optimistic nativity.
Where the Equestrian army lacks in practical battlefield experience, they make up for in pure economic and industrial power, as well as a massive pool of manpower (ponypower) to draw from across their large nation.
Visually, Equestrian soldiers resemble the British army of World War 1, brownish tan uniforms with steel brodie helmets.
The Equestrian Army is still very inexperienced, and prefers defensive trenchlines that can easily be defended by low experienced fighting Ponies.
Species Profile: Ponies (major races)
Ponies are small, colourful equines found across the world of Equestria at War. They are generally friendly, peaceful and capable. Herbivores, they naturally fear predators and defend themselves through cooperation. They wield various magic, but all possess minor magic that allows them to manipulate objects and perform fine work with hooves. There are 3 major types of ponies, and several minor ones.
The Three Major Races:
Earth Ponies have neither wings nor horn, but are innately connected to the earth and land. They have a magical affinity for growth and agriculture, and tend to be stronger than their counterparts. This practical inclination can also manifest as an aptitude for mechanics and technology.
Unicorns are powerful spellcasters, who channel spells and telekinesis through their horn. However, most are not especially powerful, and only know basic telekinesis and specialist magic relating to their talent and hobbies. With telekinetic magic unicorns can multitask whilst performing highly dextrous tasks such as needlework. For this reason unicorns tend to be more highly employed as scholars, artisans and writers.
Especially skilled unicorns are rare, but can wield incredible power such as shields, healing, flying, teleportation, invisibility, energy blasts and even time travel.
Pegasi are winged, flying ponies, and have natural magical powers over weather and the skies. They can travel quickly and are responsible for managing weather around Equestria, including preventing natural disasters, allocating rain and managing the change of seasons. Because of their maneuverability they are often employed to patrol and range distances, with the best fliers are employed in elite special forces units.
Species Profile: Ponies (minor races)
Alicorns are legendary ponies who wield the attributes of all 3 races. They age extremely slowly and at present, only a few are known to exist. Alicorns can be born naturally from other alicorns, but can also emerge as the result of ascension, a process by which particularly heroic ponies become avatars of virtue and power. The alicorns Celestia and Luna wield power over the Sun and Moon respectively, leading Equestria. An example of ascension is Twilight Sparkle, who became an alicorn after she finished one of Star Swirl's spells.
Thestrals, or Batponies, can fly like pegasi and feature leathery wings, fluffy ears, good night vision and batlike fangs. They like to work and play at night, and tend to be more introverted, avoiding mainstream society and preferring the wilderness of mountains and caves. Favored by the night alicorn Luna, they are discriminated against in pony society, due to their ancient association with Nightmare Moon, the corrupted form of Luna, who led them in rebellion 1000 years ago.
Crystal Ponies inhabit the lands of the Crystal Empire. While arguably not their own race, as they can be earth ponies, unicorns or pegasi, they have been permanently changed by the long exposure to the crystals of their homeland, causing them to sparkle and refract the crystals' magical lights.
Species Profile: Ponies (Cutie Marks)
Cutie Marks (sometimes called symbols) are unique images located on flanks of ponies and zebras. They are powerful magical marks of the personality, proclivity, and / or talent of the pony.
The image here shows some examples of cutie marks. Their symbolised talent, clockwise from the top left - flying skill and speed, apple farming, fashion design, care of animals, parties and cheer, power over the night, power over the sun, and magical talent.
From "blank flanks" to Cute-ceañera
Ponies are born without cutie marks, and they work to earn them in their years as a foal. Cutie marks are obtained when ponies discover a unique characteristic that sets themselves apart from others
Ponies who have yet to gain their mark are derisively called "blank flanks". Earning a cutie mark is a momentous occasion for a pony and is celebrated with a "cute-ceañera".
Despite their personal, unique meaning, cutie marks can often define ponies in their occupations, reputation and even social hierarchy, and tend to follow the natural talents of each race. Some ponies struggle with various problems, including a failure to live up to their mark, stereotyping and discrimination, and finding meaning and gainful employment in their special talent.
Some pones have experimented with a Cutie Mark free society such as the failed attempt in the commune of Our Town, led by Starlight Glimmer.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Princess Celestia
Princess Celestia is the the co-ruler of Equestria along with her younger sister, Princess Luna, both of whom are responsible for raising the sun and the moon. She is the mentor and idol of Twilight Sparkle, whom she addresses as her faithful student.
Celestia is a tall Alicorn pony. She has a white coat and wings, her mane & tail is striped of pink, purple, aqua blue, & green with sparkles around, her eyes are light grayish-magenta she wears a golden crown with a purple gem on it, a golden necklace also with a purple gem on it, wears golden hoof shoes, and also has a sun based cutie mark.
Celestia acts as a mentor/motherly figure to the ponies of Equestria, but most of all with Twilight. She often does not directly state her goals but rather gives the advice to help her students find the answers they need. Despite being royalty, she often encourages her subjects to relax with jokes and gentle questions. She also shows great patience with any inappropriate behavior towards her. While kindhearted and slow to anger, Celestia's patience does have its limits.
As the war with the Changelings progresses, Celestia will slowly become more jaded, snappy, stressed out and quick to anger. The stress of managing Equestria and it's war efforts, as well as the mounting pony dead will weigh beyond heavily on her psyche. Celestia's pride and desire to shelter those she loves causes her to think she must bear the brunt of this burden alone, though if her stress levels continue to rise untreated, she may snap and transform into her evil alter ego, Daybreaker, like her sister Princess Luna had turned into Nightmare Moon a millenia ago.
Being an alicorn, Celestia can fly and use magic. Celestia is highly intelligent, able to retain a great deal of information, and take it as her advantage. Celestia can use her Telekinesis magic to move things around while her horn glows. Celestia can create massive powerful energy beams in any direction. She also has power over raising the sun.
Who is Daybreaker?
Daybreaker is the evil alter-ego of Princess Celestia, the same as Nightmare Moon being the alter-ego of Princess Luna. Daybreaker appears almost the same as Celestia: a tall alicorn with a white coat. However, unlike Celestia, both her mane and tail are made of fire. She has yellow eyes with dragon-like pupils and black irises, possesses fangs, and her cutie mark is surrounded by orange and yellow. Also, she wears orange armor on her hooves, chest, wings, and head, with her helmet adorned with a red jewel, and her chest plate has her cutie mark on it.
Daybreaker is incredibly vain about her appearance and abilities, believing herself to be superior to Celestia in every way. She has no qualms about destroying anyone who opposes her, even her own family, and is hellbent on eliminating Luna so she could rule Equestria alone, should Luna refuse to surrender peacefully. All of her maniacal laughing is an obvious sign of insanity.
It's safe to assume that Daybreaker's powers are the same as Celestia's, but according to herself, Daybreaker's power is even greater. She can fly, shoot powerful magic bolts, and produce immense amounts of fire to incinerate her enemies.
Thankfully Princess Celestia does everything in her power to keep Daybreaker buried deep inside her subconscious, though if Celestia's anger, stress and grief are pushed too far by this war, she will succumb and become Daybreaker.
Should Celestia turn into Daybreaker, she will start off with well enough intentions, believing her old self too soft to protect the ponies of Equestria. Eventually however, she will turn more and more megalomaniac, wishing to be worshipped as the goddess of the sun and reform Equestria into the Solar Empire, a much more totalitarian and militaristic state.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Princess Luna
Luna is Princess Celestia's younger sister and Equestria's co-ruler. Luna is an alicorn with a dark blue body, starry dark blue hair, and her cutie mark is shaped like a moon on a dark night sky.
Luna is soft-spoken and gentle like Fluttershy, though can be assertive and commanding when the situation calls for it. Luna holds a deep regret for her time as her evil alter ego, Nightmare Moon, before the Elements of Harmony freed her from her exile.
Being an Alicorn, Princess Luna can fly and use magic. Being the "Princess of the Night", Luna can enter any pony's dream.Luna can manipulate other ponies' dreams to others through doors, She can also use the Dream World to show the past, present, and future as shown with Sweetie Belle, She can allow ponies to share a dream with ease other and combine other ponies' dreams into one.
Just like her sister Celestia, as an alicorn, Luna is functionally immortal and will never die of old age, however she can still be killed by regular means.
Luna had spent several years in self imposed solitude after returning from her 1000 year banishment to the moon, shutting herself away in the Royal Palace and allowing Celestia to more or less rule alone. Luna had been ridden with guilt over her actions as Nightmare Moon. In recent years however, Princess Luna has stepped out of her shell and taken an active role as Equestria's co monarch. She had taken measures to integrate the Thestral ponies fully into Equestrian society, having them officially recognized as the fourth tribe.
Princess Luna currently serves as the overall military commander of Equestria's army, while her sister Celestia handles the day to day governance.
Princess Luna has a deep seeded fear of ever turning into Nightmare Moon again, it would take an extreme amount of stress and anguish for her to transform into her evil alter ego again, though Luna's precious Thestral Ponies not getting the rights they deserve may be the straw that breaks the camels back.
Who is Nightmare Moon?
Nightmare Moon was the corrupted form of Princess Luna, the younger sister of Princess Celestia who was consumed by her own jealousy toward her older sister. As Nightmare Moon, she acted as Celestia's archenemy and led a rebellion against her sister, seeking to bring about an endless night and rule Equestria on her own. Princess Celestia had been forced to use the Elements of Harmony to banish Nightmare Moon, imprisoning her on the moon itself. Nightmare Moon wad banished for 1000 years, but eventually broke free and attempted to bring about her endless night once again. This time she was restored to her normal form by the modern wielders of the Elements of Harmony, they bring the ponies Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack respectfully.
Now the essence of Nightmare Moon has been locked away back inside Princess Luna's subconscious, but should Nightmare Moon ever take over as the dominant personality again, she will undoubtedly start another civil war against Equestria and her sister, and attempt to bring about her endless night once again under the banner of her Lunar Empire, and force the Thestral Ponies to be her soldiers and followers.
Nightmare Moon possesses all of the same abilities as Princess Luna, though arguably even more powerful.
Unlike Luna, Nightmare Moon is very brash, arrogant and full of herself. She is a spiteful narcissist through and through, though she does care for the Thestral ponies on her own twisted possessive way.
Nightmare Moon is a tall pony, the same size as Celestia and shared many similarities towards her as well. Her fur color is pitch black, and her mane and tail flow in a starry midnight complexation.
What are the Elements of Harmony?
The Elements of Harmony are six supernatural artifacts that produce powerful magic when activated. Five of the Elements embody qualities that directly relate to friendship: honesty, kindness, laughter, generosity, and loyalty.
When all of the Elements are brought together, they produce a powerful magic, typically shown in the form of a magnificent beam of rainbow colored light strong enough to banish even near god tier foes.
The Elements have been used to defeat truly fearsome foes in the past, such as Nightmare Moon, and most recently the dark tyrant of the Crystal Empire, Sombra.
The Elements of Harmomy have been used by the Alicorn sisters Princesses Celestia and Luna for most of their known history, however in the present day the artifacts are carried by six ponies who are the best of friends.
The newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle the Element of Magic, Rarity the Element of Generosity, Rainbow Dash the Element of Loyalty, Fluttershy the Element of Kindness, Pinkie Pie the Element of Laughter and Applejack the Element of Honesty.
The six Elements of Harmony have nested many foes and gone on many adventures together through Equestria and beyond, defeating the likes of Discord, Nightmare Moon, Sombra, and even foiling the Changeling Queen Chrysalis' earlier plot to take over the capital city of Equestria, Canterlot.
Throughout all their adventures together, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack have become national heroes in Equestria, celebrities of the highest degree.
Their names are known to all creatures of Equestria, and tales of their exploits have spread well beyond the countries borders.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Princess Twilight Sparkle
Princess Twilight Sparkle is a recently ascended Alicorn pony, she used to be a Unicorn. Her brother is the crown Prince of the Crystal Empire, Shining Armor.
Twilight is one of the six ponies wielding the Elements of Harmony, Twilight being the Element of Magic. Unlike the other Elements, Twilight is the student of Princess Celestia, prepped to take over the leadership of Equestira one day.
Twilight Sparkle is a lavender-colored pony with a dark indigo mane and tail featuring streaks of pink and purple, large purple eyes, and a distinctive pink six-pointed starburst cutie mark with five smaller white stars. She has a unicorn horn that she can perform magic spells, and a set of wings ever since ascending to an Alicorn. Twilight now possesses the abilities of an Alicorn such as never dying of old age, and she will live for thousands of years much like Celestia and Luna.
Twilight Sparkle is depicted as a highly intelligent, studious, and initially introverted unicorn with a strong love for learning and magic, often prioritizing knowledge over social interaction, but ultimately developing a deep understanding of friendship and the importance of connections with others through her journey; she is dedicated to her studies, organized, and is focused on achieving her goals, sometimes appearing rigid or overly analytical, but learns to embrace the joy of friendship, her best friends being the other Elements of Harmony Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack, as well as her personal assistant, the juvenile dragon named Spike.
Twilight Sparkle had become a national celebrity alongside the other Elements in Equestria even before becoming a royal Alicorn, but now her new role as Princess of Friendship is taking a heavy toll with the war under hoof.
Twilight is currently serving as Equestria's head of research, and Field Martial to the Equestrian army on the Stalliongrad front.
Twilight is still uncomfortable with the realities of war time leadership.
Who is Spike?
Spike is a juvenile dragon and personal assistant to Princess Twilight Sparkle.
Spike has green eyes, green ridges of spikes on top of his head and along the top of his tail, and light green ear fronds. He has two fangs that stick out from beneath his top lip, giving him the appearance of a slight overbite. He does not possess a set of wings yet as older dragons of his kind do, though he can spit small bursts of flame from his mouth.
Spike has a sweet, sarcastic, and supportive personality. He is also playful, vain, and the voice of reason. He is often giving moral support to Twilight Sparkle in her moments of doubt, moments that have become much more frequent after the Great War breaks out.
Spike also has a not so secret crush on the Element of Generosity, the Unicorn mare Rarity. Spike also has a close bond with the other Elements of Harmony, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack.
Because Spike was considered too young to volunteer for the Equestrian Army when the Great War began, the juvinile dragon continues his work as Twilight Sparkle's assistant, performing tasks deemed low priority when Twilight is too busy to handle it herself.
Spike has also been known to be an amateur war photographer when he follows Twilight to the front, the pictures he's taken of Ponies on the front lines adoring many pieces of war propaganda plastered throughout the cities of Equestria.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Rarity
Rarity is a unicorn pony with a white coat, purple mane and tail, and blue eyes. She has a cutie mark of three blue diamonds in a circle. Rarity is a fashionista through and through, and her biggest passion in life is creating beautiful clothing. Rarity takes great pride in her physical appearance, and can sometimes be vain, though this personality trait rarely ever takes hold of her completely.
Rarity is one of the six Elements of Harmony alongside Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack, and is a national hero in Equestria.
Representing the Element of Generosity, Rarity is a very altruistic pony, and her materialistic fascination should not put into doubt how selfless she can be.
Rarity is a generous, sophisticated, and creative unicorn who is passionate about beauty and fashion. She is also known for being a talented dressmaker and artist.
Though Rarity is not a violent or angry pony by her nature, she is regardless quite brave and has faced down many dangers in her life alongside her friends, the other Elements of Harmony.
Rarity owns her own fashion boutique in the town of Ponyville, however in recent years with the rising tensions between Equestria and the Changeling Lands, Rarity had been commissioned by Princess' Celestia and Luna to design the official uniforms for the Equestrian Armed forces branches.
She is currently serving in the capital city of Equestria, Canterlot, as the Chief Logistics Officer of the Equestrian Army.
Rarity is fully aware that the dragon Spike has a crush on her, and though she values his friendship greatly, Rarity sees Spike in more of a little brother role, even referring to him as her "Spikey-Wikey".
As a unicorn, Rarity is capable of basic telekinesis and simple magic, though she is not at all trained in combat based magic.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Fluttershy
Fluttershy is a yellow pegasus mare with green-blue eyes and a pink mane and tail. Her cutie mark, a trio of butterflies, represents her talent as an animal caretaker and her love for nature.
Fluttershy is one of the six Elements of Harmony alongside Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Applejack, and is a national hero in Equestria. Fluttershy herself represents the Element of Kindness.
Fluttershy absolutely detests violence and aggression, even more so than the other ponies who are generally peaceful by nature.
Fluttershy is a kind, shy, and patient pony who is very fond of animals, and often puts the well being of others first, a lot of the times at her own expense.
As a pegasus, Fluttershy cannot perform magic, but has a set of wings to fly with, though she is not an athlete flyer like Rainbow Dash.
Fluttershy owns a cottage on the outskirts of the town of Ponyville, where she shelters and cares for animals of all shapes and sizes.
Because of her gentle and pacifist demeanor, Fluttershy did not volunteer for the Equestrian Army at the outbreak of the Great War. Fluttershy simply lacked the killer instinct needed to be a soldier, even by the relatively low standards of what killer instinct meant to most ponies.
Instead, Fluttershy moved to Canterlot. Officially, Fluttershy operates as not only an Element of Harmony, but as a reassuring public face to ease the tension of the citizens of Equestria in these trying times.
Unofficially, Fluttershy is part of Twilight Sparkle's research division, working as a scientist in Equestria's highly secretive nuclear weapons division.
Fluttershy hates the idea of working on a potential superweapon, but she justifies it to herself by telling herself such a superweapon would end the war quickly, and thus save more lives in the long run.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Rainbow Dash
Rainbow Dash is a blue pegasus with pink eyes and a rainbow-colored mane and tail. Her cutie mark, a rainbow-colored lightning bolt with a cloud, represents her talent for speed and her obsession with adventure.
Rainbow Dash is athletic, competitive, loyal, and sometimes self-centered. She is also known for being fast, blunt, and boastful.
Rainbow Dash is one of the six Elements of Harmony, alongside Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack. Rainbow represents the Element of Lpyalty, and is considered a national hero in Equestria.
Rainbow had always dreamed of joining the Wonderbolts, a daring group of stunt flyers known all throughout Equestria. Through her own diligent training, and innovating brand new flying techniques of her own such as the Sonic Rainboom (A maneuver where Rainbow Dash would build up so much speed, she would break the sound barrier, creating a Rainbow colored burst of energy in the process), she would eventually achieve her dream and join the famed flying Squadron.
When she wasn't off saving the world with her friends, she was dazzling crowds all across Equestria, becoming recognized as possibly the fastest creature alive.
When the Great War breaks out, Rainbow Dash would immediately volunteer for the Equestrian Army along with Applejack. Twilight initially refused their request, however her decision was later overturned by Celestia, and Twilight would back down on her objection after many heated discussions with Rainbow and Applejack.
Rainbow and Applejack would join the army as Privates, though Rainbow Dash would eventually climb the ranks after losing her left wing to anti aircraft fire, causing it to need to be amputated. Rainbow had saved several Pegasi who had been ambushed by Changeling troops. It has since been replaced by a metallic prosthetic wing.
Rainbow Dash can be reckless, but is a steadfast and brave soldier. She is currently serving as a 1st Leutenant of the forward scouts on the Changeling Front.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Pinkie Pie
Pinkie Pie is a light pink earth pony with a dark pink mane and tail, and light blue eyes. Her cutie mark is three balloons.
Pinkie Pie is a cheerful, outgoing, and energetic pony who loves to make others laugh. She's also known for being wacky, goofy, and eccentric.
Pinkie Pie is one of the six Elements of Harmony alongside Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Applejack. Pinkie represents the Element of Laughter, and is considered a national hero in Equestria.
When she was not busy off saving the world with her friends, Pinkie loves nothing more than to organize parties for other ponies, bake delicious treats, play playful pranks on other ponies with Rainbow Dash, and generally just enjoy her life. In more recent years, Pinkie has served as Equestria's chief Diplomat, travelling to other nations and spreading harmony and love with her upbeat and ever optimistic attitude. Pre Great War, her greatest diplomatic achievements include integrating the Buffalo Chiefdom to the south into an alliance with Equestria, something thought previously impossible due to long standing land disputes between the two nations. Pinkie has also established trade relations between Equestria, and Yakyakistan.
When the Great War breaks out, Pinkie would not volunteer for the Equestrian Army, instead she would continue her work as Equestri's foremost diplomat, believing that the war could still be resolved through peaceful, diplomatic means. She would also spend her time throwing celebrations for the soldiers, to boost morale.
Pinkie's life would change forever one day when she was throwing a party for the soldiers on the Changeling front. Dozens of Changeling infiltrators would suddenly change back into their true forms, and would start gunnibg down unsuspecting ponies in droves during the party. Pinkie herself would only barely survive the ambush, and it left a deep psychological scar on Pinkie. Pinkie doesn't smile or laugh too much anymore.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Applejack
Applejack is an orange earth pony with a blonde mane and tail, green eyes, and typically wears a cowboy hat. Her cutie mark is three apples.
Applejack is known for being honest, hardworking, and reliable. She is also strong, level-headed, and protective of her friends.
Applejack is one of the six Elements of Harmony, alongside Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. Applejack represents the Element of Honesty, and is considered a national hero in Equestria.
Applejack grew up on the farm Sweet Apple Acres on the outskirts of Ponyville, with her older brother Big McIntosh, little sister Apple Bloom and their grandmother Granny Smith. When she was not off saving the world with her friends, Applejack spent the majority of her time as a hard working apple farmer at Sweet Apple Acres.
When the Great War breaks out, Applejack would immediately volunteer for the Equestrian Army, alongside her friend Rainbow Dash and her older brother Big McIntosh. Twilight Sparkle initially disapproved, but their requests to enlist was approved by Celestia and after several heated arguements, Twilight would eventually relent.
Applejack was sent to the Frontlines of the Changling front, and quickly proved herself as a dependable, reliable and brave soldier who was a constant uplifting presence for the soldiers around her. Applejack would quickly rise the ranks to Gunnery Sergeant for her efforts, now primarily operating a heavy machine gun nest and directing her squadron in defensive engagements.
One night when their trench was being raided by Changelings, Applejack and her fellow soldiers were forced into close quarters fighting with the Changelings. Applejack would find herself cornered and in mortal danger, only for her brother Big Mac to come to her rescue and fight off the Changelings. Big McIntosh would be severely wounded in the process, but is on track to making a full recovery.
Currently, Applejack continues her service as a Gunnery Sergeant.
Who is Big McIntosh?
Big McIntosh is a red Earth Pony with an orange mane and tail, with yellowish hooves and green eyes. His eyes are almost always half closed and he looks slightly bored all the time. He also has a horsecollar around his neck area.
Big McIntosh, also known as Big Mac, is calm, easy-going, and practical. He is the older brother of Applejack and Apple Bloom.
Big Mac is hard working and stoic. He wastes very little time with smalltalk, and speaks directly and to the point, responding to most questions with a simple "Yep.", or "Nope."
While he is no intellectual mastermind, Big Mac is not unintelligent. His biggest strength however, is his physical strength, even by Earth Pony standards, Big McIntosh is an exceptionally strong stallion.
Though he hasn't gone on quite so many adventures as his famous sister Applejack, Big Mac has dedicated himself to being a hard working Apple farmer at Sweet Apple Acres, and helping to provide for the Apple family. Big Mac is fiercely protective over his family, and though he is fully aware that Applejack is more than capable of handling herself, he is still determined to be there for her anyways.
When the Great War broke out, Big Mac was initially content with staying out of it, however once his sister Applejack volunteered for the Equestrian Army, Big McIntosh signed up without a second thought. There was no chance in Tartarus Big Mac was going to allow Applejack to go to war on her own, even if her friend and fellow Element Rainbow Dash was also enlisting.
Big Mac's hardworking nature, physical fitness and task driven mind made him an ideal soldier, and much like his sister Applejack he proved himself quickly to be one of the more dependable soldiers in their unit. Though he wasn't the natural leader Applejack was, Big Mac was promoted to the rank of Corporal.
During a Changeling raid, Big McIntosh would be skewered by a bayonet in several places while saving his sister Applejack, and is now recovering in a military hospital
Who is Apple Bloom?
Apple Bloom is a young Earth pony with a yellow coat, curly red mane, and reddish-orange eyes. She also has three eyelashes on each eye that curve upward. The inside of the ears are light pink, and her fetlocks are the same color as her coat. She wears a large pink bow in her mane.
She is little sister to Applejack and Big McIntosh, and lives at Sweet Apple Acres with their grandmother, Granny Smith.
Apple Bloom is caring, compassionate, and brave. She is also known for being selfless, sweet-natured, and strong-willed.
Apple Bloom is best friends with the Unicorn Filly Sweetie Belle, and the Pegasus Filly Scootaloo, the three of them nicknaming themselves the "Cutie Mark Crusaders", though they have all since acquired their Cutie Marks. Apple Bloom greatly admires her famous older sister Applejack, and aspires to be just like her one day.
When the Great War breaks out, Apple Bloom was devastated when her older siblings Applejack and Big McIntosh enlisted in the Equestrian Army and were sent off to war. Apple Bloom wanted to enlist and go with them, but was flatly refused due to being too young to enlist in the Equestrian Military.
Nowadays, Apple Bloom spends most of her time at Sweet Apple Acres, the weight of picking up the responsibilities of her siblings at home while they were off to war placed on her young shoulders.
Though she would do anything for her family, Apple Bloom is young and the pressure of providing for the Apple family when her siblings can't puts great stress on the young Filly. She doesn't spend as much time with her friends anymore due to having so many responsibilities, though Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are all considering lying about their ages and joining the army now that they all have their Cutie Marks.
Who is Sweetie Belle?
Sweetie Belle is a young Unicorn filly with a white body, pink and purple curly mane and tail, and green eyes.
She is the little sister of Rarity, and best friends with the Earth Pony Filly Apple Bloom and the Pegasus Filly Scootaloo. The Three friends nicknamed themselves the "Cutie Mark Crusaders", though they have since all gained their Cutie Marks.
Sweetie Belle is kind, innocent, and well-meaning, but can also be mischievous, vain, and naive.
When the Great War broke out, Sweetie Belle was relieved to hear that her older sister Rarity would not be going off to war, but was sympathetic that both of Apple Bloom's siblings and Scootaloo's idol Rainbow Dash were going to war.
Sweetie Belle concern is growing for her friends, Applejack Bloom for having to take over the immense responsibility of running Sweet Apple Acres, and Scootaloo for losing the one parental figure in her life to the army.
She is concerned that the friendship between the three fillies is starting to weaken, and Sweetie Belle is determined to do whatever it takes to hold their friendship together in these harsh times.
Sweetie Belle is secretly terrified of the idea of going to war and deep down doesn't want to be a soldier, but her loyalty to her friends caused her to give in to peer pressure and attempt to enlist when Apple Bloom and Scootaloo attempted to enlist. All three were soundly rejected for being too young.
Rarity was beyond furious with Sweetie Belle upon learning that she tried to enlist in the army, and Sweetie Belle is deep down relieved that her application was shot down, though she has still made a promise to Apple Bloom and Scootaloo that if they go off to war, she is going with them.
A prospect that is becoming frighteningly possible now that Scootaloo and Apple Bloom are considering lying about their ages to enlist, now that all three fillies have their Cutie Marks.
Who is Scootaloo?
Scootaloo is a young Pegasus Filly, her body is orange, with purple eyes and a spiky purple mane and tail. Ever since the Cutie Mark Chronicles, her cutie mark has been a purple striped emblem with a wing with a lightning bolt in the middle, the same Cutie Mark as Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle.
Scootaloo is energetic and tomboyish, much like her idol Rainbow Dash. Scootaloo admires Rainbow Dash above any other Pony, and has picked up many of her traits, both good and bad. She can be stubborn and headstrong, but is also loyal and brave.
Scootaloo grew up in Ponyville as an orphan pony, never knowing her real parents. Because if this, Scootaloo was a troublemaker in her younger years.
She would eventually meet the Element of Harmony, Rainbow Dash. The two would almost instantly develop an inseparable bond, Rainbow Dash filling the roles of Scootaloos unofficial big sister and mother figure.
Scootaloo would also become best friends with the Unicorn Filly Sweetie Belle and the Earth Pony Filly Apple Bloom, nicknaming themselves the "Cutie Mark Crusaders", even though they have all since earned their Cutie Marks.
When the Great War broke out, Scootaloo was devastated when Rainbow Dash enlisted in the Equestrian Army, and immediately attempted to volunteer too. Though her application was soundly refused for being too young to join the military, this would never the less lead to several heated arguements between Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo. Scootaloo wanted nothing more but to go off to war with her hero and mother figure Rainbow, and Rainbow Dash wanted Scootaloo as far away from danger as possible. Before she shipped off to the Changeling front, Scootaloo had said some harsh words to Rainbow, words she regrets to this day.
With the stresses of the war, her friendship with Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle was growing distant, and she felt like she was losing the only family she's known.
Scootaloo is determined to lie about her age and join the Equestrian Army.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Sunset Shimmer
Sunset Shimmer is a Unicorn Mare who has light amber coat, red and yellow mane and tail, and a red and yellow cutie mark that shimmers.

Nowadays hee personality has tempered, as she is repentant for the terrible actions she's done in the past. She is now much more kind and understanding, though shades of her old confrontational, selfish attitude can still surface from time to time.
Sunset Shimmer was Princess Celestia's original student, before Twilight Sparkle. Sunset Shimmer was the original candidate considered and being groomed to take over leadership in Equestria after Celestia and Luna decide to step down, however Sunset's toxic personality would eventually have her removed from consideration for becoming Equestria's next Princess.
Sunset became bitter because of this, and once she heard about Celestia's new student, Twilight Sparkle, Sunset would use her magic to steal Twilight's crown and flee to an alternate dimension inhabited by Humans.
Twilight would follow Sunset to the Human alternate dimension, and eventually Sunset would see the error of her ways and return the crown.
Sunset Shimmer would spend severely years with the humans, learning of their culture and how they lived, though she would eventually return to Equestria.
Ever since returning to Equestria, Sunset Shimmer has been determined to prove that she's changed, and here to help in any way she can. She has since reconciled with her old teacher Princess Celestia and her colleague Twilight Sparkle.

Starlight has many personality traits, including vanity, selfishness, and a desire for control, though she is not completely without empathy of self reflection. The is also quite socially anxious at times and doubts herself.
Starlight eventually discovers a spell that allows her to remove a pony's cutie mark and replace it with her own. Starlight uses this spell to create a society where everyone is equal, in an isolated northern village known as "Our Town". Starlight's society would be heavily supported by the Communist offshoot nation, Stalliongrad and recieve much aid from them.
As the leader of this village, Starlight has the philosophy that "true friendship" comes from being equal—no more or less talented than another—and that having special talents of any kind only leads to disharmony. To this end, Starlight uses a magical artifact called the Staff of Sameness to remove her followers' cutie marks and replace them with equal signs.
When Twilight Sparkle and her friends arrive at the village, Starlight Glimmer sees this as an opportunity to spread her message of equality to all of Equestria. She leads the Mane Six to a vault of cutie marks outside the village, where she takes their cutie marks from them with the Staff of Sameness and tries to convert them over to her way of thinking.
Eventually Starlight would see the error of her ways, and become Twilight's personal student.
Now Starlight serves Equestria as an advisor on the Stalliongrad front, though many in Equestria's high command question if Starlight is loyal to Equestria, or Stalliongrad who supported her "Our Town" society in the past.
Notable Characters in Equestria: Soarin
Soarin is a Pegasus Stallion with a Very pale cornflower blue coat, dark blue mane and tail, and emerald green eyes. His Cutie Mark is a lightning bolt going through a cloud.
Soarin is friendly and upbeat, making him well-liked by others. His personality contrasts with Spitfire's more relaxed demeanor. Despite his usually energetic persona, Soarin can be serious and professional when necessary. As a former Wonderbolt, Soarin is also an extremely skilled flyer.
Soarin was a member of the Wonderbolts, being Spitfire's second-in-command. He has a crush on Rainbow Dash, and he considered asking her to go on a date with him when she was nominated as an official Wonderbolt. Unfortunately things would not pan out on that front, as rising tensions with the Changelings on the western border of Equestria, Soarin felt compelled to volunteer for the Equestrian Army several years before the outbreak of the Great War. Though Soarin had loved being a Wonderbolt, the stallion found his calling in the military, adapting to tactics of modern warfare faster than many of the early officers in the Equestrian army. Soarin would be put through Officer's training school, and excelled being the top of his respective class.
Soarin had been promoted as the youngest General in the history of the Equestrian Army, an honor he is beyond proud of.
When the Great War broke out, the Equestrian border was not ready. In the first days of the invasion, despite the defenses and preparations, due to the ruthless mechanized offense of the mighty Changeling army and the deceptive efforts of Changeling infiltrates, Equestria lost a lot of ground in the west. The first week's of the war were more or less a fighting retreat by Equestrian forces, however thanks to the efforts of General Soarin and other Generals like General Thunderbolt, the front line has slowed and turned into a stalemate before Equestria could loose too much ground. Now Soarin continues his service as a General on the Changeling front.
