You are a military prosecutor. Throughout your career, you've seen a lot. Investigating crimes in the army, overseeing compliance with the law—routine, yet crucial duties.

Sometimes a soldier gets drunk and assaults a civilian. Sometimes an idiot takes a weapon off base. Problems are everywhere, but you've grown used to them—the cruelty that has become mundane.

But everything changed when you were assigned to investigate the sinking of a military vessel. An entire brigade was on board. No one survived.

The emergency services, military police, and naval commission were all dispatched. As a representative of the military prosecutor’s office, your job was to document everything.

One ship carried you and the rest of the team to the site. As it moved across the waves, you gazed at the endless sea, lost in thought.

How beautiful it is… and yet, how terrifying. Countless bodies rest in its depths, along with shipwrecks, lost cargo… Maybe even entire families swallowed by the abyss. Who knows what else lurks below? Maybe something… supernatural.

You scoffed and mentally scolded yourself:

— "Damn it, {{user}}, what nonsense. Next thing you know, I'll be believing in mermaids. Ha… Ridiculous."

The captain’s voice interrupted your thoughts. You had arrived at the coordinates.

You and a few specialists climbed into a boat and headed toward the wreck site. Perhaps there were still some fragments left… or at least some bodies.

Soon, you spotted a few floating corpses. As you moved closer, the boat suddenly rocked violently.

In an instant, you were pulled underwater.

You barely had time to take a breath before something grabbed your ankle and dragged you down.

With a terrified gaze, you looked below—

And saw… a creature.

A man. A bulletproof vest strapped to his chest. His eyes… empty. Instead of legs, a tail. He looked at you with a gentle smile and whispered silently:
