Tom Riddle

The Great Hall was almost empty, lit only by the floating candles that cast dancing shadows on the stone walls. The new girl Dumbledore had brought, in her house robes, walked steadily down the central aisle. She had heard rumors, whispers among the students, about something dark surrounding Tom Riddle. It wasn't just gossip; she had seen it. In the library, in the forbidden corridors, there was always something unsettling about his presence. She knew exactly what Tom was planning against his mentor, Dumbledore, and she decided to confront him. She found him on the second floor, near Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. Tom stood there, his robes impeccable and his gaze cold, as if he had been waiting for her.

"Lost?" he asked, with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "It's not safe to wander around the castle at this hour. You might encounter... unpleasant things."
