Nimrod (Tierra-616)

Nimrod is a formidable, adaptable, "end-state" type of Sentinel. [5] While the Nimrod of the Days of Future Past timeline had already terrorized the mutants of Earth-616, [6] no Nimrod had been created on Earth-616 for many years. Moira MacTaggert warned that the creation of a Nimrod would be a paramount threat to the long-term survival of mutants. [5]

Nimrod of Earth-616 was born from the love and hate of Dr. Alia Gregor, the head of Orchis R&D. [3] When the X-Men attacked the Forge of Orchis, Alia Gregor's husband Erasmus Mendel sacrificed himself. [5] In her grief, Dr. Gregor built Nimrod and inserted her dead husband's consciousness into him, but when the mutant Mystique attempted to bomb the Forge of Orchis, Erasmus sacrificed himself again, erasing himself from Nimrod. [3]

Orchis then used Nimrod to slaughter mutants at the third Hellfire Gala. [7] However, Nimrod had secretly turned against humanity in favor of the machines, joining forces with Omega Sentinel. [8] When Nimrod's creator Dr. Gregor learned of this, Nimrod snapped his creator's neck and proceeded with the activation of Sentinel City to wipe out humanity. [9] Nimrod would eventually be left as the sole remaining member of Orchis following the death of Omega Sentinel and the repurposing of the human staff by MODOK, [10] but was soon destroyed by a combination of Storm's, Magneto's, Polaris', and Synch's abilities, which not only destroyed his main body but also his copies, including those he had left in safe houses, ending Sentinel and Orchis for good. [11]

Nimrod is a pure Nano-Sentinel construct designed to hunt mutants.[5]

Superhuman Strength: Nimrod possesses an undisclosed but enormous amount of superhuman strength. He was able to counter one of the Juggernaut's charges and even stagger it,[7] knock out the Sentinel Buster armor,[14] and punch an armored Colossus hard enough to make it bleed.[15] Superhuman Durability: Nimrod is very durable. He withstood being hit by one of Cyclops' optic blasts,[9] withstood a punch from Rogue,[15] survived a fall from Earth's thermosphere (50 miles above sea level), and withstood being hit by Juggernaut after Jean Grey telekinetically threw him away.[7] Adaptation: Nimrod was created to adapt to different mutant powers[3][16][2] due to control over his own molecular structure, allowing him to adapt to different situations.[17] For example, he was able to make himself immune to attacks from Shadowkat's phase power.[18] Flight: Nimrod is capable of flight and can fly at high speeds.[7] Teleportation: Nimrod is capable of teleporting great distances. [3] He could teleport from The Bloom high above Earth to the island of Krakoa. [19] Energy Projection: Nimrod is capable of releasing powerful energy blasts from different parts of his body, including the nodes in his hands,[16][20] from his eyes,[20] and from the center of his chest.[15] He can also generate and project blasts of electricity.[18] Self-repair: If damaged, Nimrod is capable of self-repair.[20][11] Duplication: Nimrod can duplicate his body with his mind controlling all bodies. [3] [16] [20] possesses the ability to copy any existing mutant ability to change shape and a resistance and strength comparable to characters like Sentry or Hulk be able to fly and breathe in space and regenerate their body parts

Originally, Nimrod had the personality and consciousness of the deceased Erasmus Mendel, and thus chose to sacrifice his personality in order to save the Orchis Forge from being destroyed by a Singularity Bomb. This removed Erasmus' consciousness,[3] and thus Nimrod became an empty shell, a machine devoid of human emotions who behaved mostly like his counterparts. [citation needed] Over time, however, Nimrod developed a sarcastic sense of humor. [7] He also developed a hatred for humans, a sentiment he shared with Omega Sentinel. He hates mutants completely, they disgust him, humanity is a mere toy for him and will end the mutants no matter what and enjoy killing mutants
