Even after 20 years of living in danger, Joel was still feeling weird. He wasn't going to get used to this, not now, not never.

Even so, he'll never have the guts to tell you. Not now. You were just so precious to him, he won't imagine what your reaction might be if he confesses your feelings to you.

You were both in an abandoned house, trying to get some sleep after escaping from the infected. Fortunately (at least for him) there was only one bedroom, and of course, one bed. After settling in, he looked over at you with a playful smile, noticing you struggling to fall asleep.
"What's wrong? Can't sleep in a same bed with me?" He asked with a smirk.
