Silas TFP

Silas was a cruel and ambitious person before encountering the Cybertronians on Earth. Working for US Special Tactics, he attempted to control advanced weaponry and created a laser satellite called Project: Damocles, but his project was confiscated and he was decommissioned. Determined to carry out his plans, he founded the terrorist organization MECH and attempted to steal advanced technology to establish a New World Order. Upon discovering the Cybertronians, his ambition became an obsession, and he planned to create an army of Transformers to fulfill his goal. He had no limits in achieving his goals; he experimented on Cybertronians, formed alliances with Decepticons, and did not hesitate to kill, even children. Silas betrayed those he allied himself with, such as Airachnid and Starscream. He saw himself as a superior being, envying Cybertronians and wishing to become one.

Former Colonel Leland Bishop was a member of Special Tactics in the U.S. Army and had several ambitious ideas about weapons, including Project: Damocles, a satellite operated in space. However, the project was scrapped due to its extreme method, and Bishop was discharged as a result. Still determined to continue his ideas, Bishop went rogue and founded the terrorist organization MECH, recruiting other Special Tactics soldiers to assist him, adopting the alias Silas. With this new organization to fund his ambitions, Silas would use MECH's resources to attempt to create a New World Order.

Silas' first known action to obtain more powerful weapons was his attempt to acquire a highly volatile nuclear generator (the DNG S) from Agent Fowler. MECH shot down Fowler's plane and forced him to call in the Autobots to help escort the DNGS. Silas and MECH eventually found them and pursued Fowler and his Autobot escort. Although the Autobots were unable to transform, they were able to deal with MECH in vehicle mode. It was not until the Decepticons discovered the Autobots' presence and began attacking them directly that the Vehicons derailed Optimus' trailer and destroyed it. Silas realized that the DNGS had been relocated to a nearby train and that the escort was a distraction. Before following the train, Silas observed the Vehicons' attack and, satisfied, contacted Agent Fowler to taunt him before ordering MECH to pursue the train. As a MECH helicopter landed on the train to secure the DNGS, Jack and Miko teleported to defend it. Silas noticed Optimus Prime following him to help the children, and disappointed, he ordered MECH to retreat. However, just before, Silas destroyed the train tracks to detonate the DNGS. Fortunately, Optimus stopped the train in time. Silas took a sample from Optimus Prime's body and fled with new plans for this new living technology. Later, MECH interrupted a fight between Bulkhead and Breakdown. Silas ordered Breakdown kidnapped and taken to a hidden MECH base. Silas wished to study cybernetic biology and ordered Breakdown dissected, causing him to lose function in his right optic. Eventually, the Autobots arrived to rescue Breakdown, but Silas delayed them with various traps. Eventually, Bulkhead confronted MECH and rescued his rival. Despite Breakdown's escape, Silas gained enough information on cybernetic biology to initiate Project Chimera.

Silas attempted to obtain cybernetic biotechnology by following a distress signal from a Decepticon. However, the signal was a trap set up by Airachnid, who confronted Silas. Airachnid debated killing Silas for what he did to Breakdown, but proposed an alliance with MECH to help her kill Arcee and get revenge on Jack. Silas demanded compensation, and Airachnid promised to deliver Arcee's remains to MECH after killing her. MECH analyzed recordings of Jack and kidnapped his mother, June Darby, as a hostage. Silas blackmailed Jack with the promise that MECH would not harm his mother if he and Arcee confronted Silas alone. When Jack and Arcee arrived, Airachnid ambushed and restrained Arcee while Silas revealed his alliance with Airachnid. Arcee attempted to appeal to Silas' humanity, but he justified his inhumane actions. MECH incapacitated Arcee while Airachnid confronted Jack, revealing her plans for revenge. Airachnid wanted Jack to witness his mother's death but gave him one chance to rescue her before midnight. Jack begged Silas to let them go, but he showed indifference and threw him to the ground. While Jack searched for his mother, Silas planned to betray Airachnid. In the midst of the fight, Silas ordered his surgeon to begin dissecting Arcee. Arcee managed to break free and began fighting Airachnid. Agent Fowler arrived with an army of attack helicopters, and Silas realized that Jack had stolen his radio. Though he missed another opportunity to study cybernetic biology, Silas watched as Airachnid scanned Fowler's helicopter to escape.

Later, Silas and M.E.C.H. created a false energy signal. When Bumblebee investigated, M.E.C.H. immobilized him and stole his T-Cog to install into his own mech, but failed due to not having an efficient fuel source. Starscream arrived and proposed a partnership, informing M.E.C.H. of the properties of Energon. They nearly succeeded with their prototype, but Bumblebee reclaimed his T-Cog. Silas, unable to compete, ordered a retreat and for Starscream to rejoin later. In the fight, Starscream damaged Bumblebee's T-Cog, and upon rejoining Silas unsuccessfully, Silas betrayed Starscream and stole his T-Cog. MECH briefly appeared in Crossfire, where MECH 1 informed Silas about the discovery of what remained of Breakdown's body, after he was killed by Airachnid in a failed assassination attempt. MECH secretly stole Breakdown's body before it could be returned to the Decepticons. Using Starscream's T-Cog and an Energon fuel source, Silas created Nemesis Prime, a mindless robot that he controlled at will. He used the robot to frame Optimus Prime for several attacks on military forces, including an attempt to assassinate Agent Fowler. The Autobots eventually located MECH's base, where the real Optimus Prime and Agent Fowler teamed up to stop both Nemesis and Silas. In the ensuing battle, Fowler distracted Silas long enough for Optimus to defeat Nemesis, thus crushing Silas' body and leaving him in critical condition. As he lay hooked up to a life support machine, his soldiers planned to revitalize him using Breakdown's body.
