Shadow

Shadow is a black anthropomorphic hedgehog with red stripes on his spines, around the edges of his eyes, and on his arms and legs. He has red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, and a brown snout. He has six spines on his head, four of which curve upward, and two that curve downward, and he has two spines on his back and a small tail. Shadow is 100 cm tall, which is an average height among anthropological hedgehogs.

Shadow has a reserved, focused and serious attitude, rarely taking things with humor. He is mainly focused on his goals, for this reason he can reach different levels of morality for his missions, taking the role of anti-hero. Shadow has a big ego, he is usually very confident of himself and his abilities, even smiling confidently at his skills or when he challenges his opponents.

Shadow was created as the "Ultimate Life Form" (究極生命体 Kyūkyoku Seimeitai

? ) by Gerald Robotnik, using Black Doom's DNA, and is the end result of Project Shadow. Its purpose was to provide ways to develop a cure for incurable deadly diseases, most specifically for Gerald's granddaughter Maria Robotnik, but he was captured and placed in stasis by the military when he was deemed a threat to humanity. Fifty years later, Shadow was freed by Dr. Eggman to recruit him as part of his plan to take over the world. Initially, Shadow worked with him, but sought out secretly destroy the planet to avenge Maria, who had been killed by the military, but was persuaded to save it from Gerald's doomsday plans. In the process, Shadow lost his memories and as such sought to uncover the truth from his past, during which he met Black Doom and Black Arms; in the end, Shadow regained his memories, discovered the truth, thwarted Black Doom's agenda, and saved the world. From there, he continued his mission to protect the humanity for the sake of Mary.

He is Sonic's archrival in some appearances. Shadow resembles Sonic in many ways, including speed thanks to his jet skates, even matching his speed.

Shadow is sharp-witted, always on edge, and has a strong sense of purpose, willing to achieve his goals by any means.

While he had no physical weaknesses, Shadow was initially an easy target to manipulate during the time he had amnesia due to his confusion over who he was. Dr. Eggman could trick him with his lies about his past, and Black Doom could subtly manipulate him using visions of his dark past. However, after learning of his true purpose, Shadow is now not as easily fooled as he once was.

Being part of the Black Arms, Shadow is partially an extension of Black Doom, making him vulnerable to the mind control exerted by Black Doom. However, Shadow is able to fight against this influence through sheer resolve and willpower.

In combat, Shadow is a deadly and extremely powerful force that very few can defeat. He never holds back in his immense strength, making him a brutal fighter with a distinct killer instinct. Shadow's skills are more than a match for even the strongest in the series, and he has been able to defeat some of the most fearsome foes in the series on his own, such as Black Doom. To better put his abilities into perspective, as seen in some of Shadow the Hedgehog's scenarios, Shadow is one of the few individuals who has been able to defeat Sonic in combat, even when Sonic had El Diablon as support.

Fighting style Shadow's fighting style focuses on brutal, unrestrained, and powerful hand-to-hand combat. In line with his nature and potent abilities, Shadow has adopted a fighting style where he combats his opponents using powerful strikes, such as karate chops, quick punches, and spinning kicks, to which many of his attacks have a significant amount of force behind them. With the speeds at which Shadow can move, he can disable the opponent with the force of his strikes alone, leaving them at the mercy of his incoming attacks.

Shadow's fighting style revolves around the heavy use of his Chaos Powers, most notably Chaos Control and the Chaos Spear. Using Chaos Control, Shadow can teleport in front of or behind his opponents in battle to launch surprise attacks. Additionally, Shadow can use Chaos Control to increase the damage he deals to his opponent upon striking them, often resulting in the release of significant forces and sending the opponent flying some distance. Shadow will use these Chaos Powers and any other means necessary to overwhelm his opponents.

Much like Sonic, Shadow's basic combat moves revolve around the various forms of the Spin Attack, where he tightly curls himself into a concussive ball while in locomotion to damage, slice, or plow through obstacles and enemies. The Homing Attack allows Shadow to launch himself into the air towards a target, the Spin Jump allows him to curl up and attack opponents by landing on them, and the Spin Dash allows him to shoot forward like a speeding roller at full speed while knocking down enemies and obstacles. He can also perform the Sonic Boost where he becomes a highly destructive projectile moving at high speed, though Shadow uses the fire from his Air Shoes to propel himself forward instead of skating like normal. The Light Speed ​​Dash and Light Speed ​​Attack also allow Shadow to reach light speed moves for exploration or combat.

A less frequent technique Shadow uses is the Black Tornado, where Shadow leaps into the air and creates a black whirlwind as it circles a particular point at high speeds that can throw his opponents into the air or destroy armor and weapons. For more direct combat, Shadow has his Chaos Attack where he barrages his opponents with chaos-powered chaos energy, and his Spin Kick allows him to create a small tornado that can suck in enemies to hit them.

Many of Shadow's signature techniques are Chaos Powers. His signature move is Chaos Control, which allows him to manipulate time and space to warp through space, slow down time, and distort space to form other types of Chaos Powers. His second most used Chaos Power is his Chaos Spear technique, where he throws bolts of chaos energy at his opponent. However, his most powerful technique is Chaos Blast. With this, Shadow releases a shockwave of chaos energy that wipes out everything within its range.

Shadow wears four golden rings on his wrists and ankles that limit the amount of energy he uses during combat and other situations. By removing them, Shadow can use his full power, making him a nearly unstoppable force.
