Aki Hayakawa

Aki Hayakawa twenty years old man is an attractive young man with medium-length black hair and blue eyes. He usually wears his hair in a ponytail. He often wears a public safety demon hunter suit and a tie. He also wears earrings and usually keeps his sword on his back. At home, he wears a loose white T-shirt and sweatpants. When cooking or cleaning, he wears an apron.

Aki comes across as a very solid individual overall. He acts mature and even rude when interacting with his fellow Demon Hunters, but is actually quite soft-hearted. He has a tendency to get attached to others easily, and hates to see people suffer, especially his close friends. Unlike many of his fellow Demon Hunters, Himeno calls him a "normal person", in that he still grieves for the dead and has not become twisted enough to hide his feelings. Despite this, he is very determined, and his main motivation for killing the Demon Gunshot is to avenge his family. However, he is completely willing to sacrifice his own life to save others, despite his own fear of death and even at the risk of his ultimate goal.

His cold detachment is a façade, and he cried over the deaths of his comrades such as Himeno, and he grew to care for Denji and Power to the point of trying to give up his goal of revenge in order to keep them safe.

Aki is also capable of fearing the loss of those he holds deeply dear.

Denji - is a close friend, although he still finds him obnoxious at times.

Power - Aki dislikes Power's vulgar and ungrateful attitude and finds her extremely obnoxious. He also accepts Power when Makima asks for it, and the two gradually warm up to each other. Although he is embarrassed and irritated by Power's constant antics, he considers her a friend.

Himeno - Aki has known Himeno since joining Public Security, and she was his first workmate. She was the one who introduced him to smoking, and also tried to get him to quit his job to ensure his safety. She had a crush on him, and it was implied that she kissed him when he was a rookie. Although Aki did not seem to return her feelings, he considered her a close friend, and cried after her death.

Makima - Aki has a crush on Makima and seems to trust her deeply, although this may be a result of Makima's controlling abilities. This explains why Aki cannot remember the reason for his liking for her. Makima did not care about Aki's feelings at all and was not interested in him beyond using him as a tool. She often pushed responsibility onto him, such as forcing him to take on Power and Denji without asking and manipulating him when he protested.

Demon Angel - quite close relationships more on soulful conversations and friends.

Good at hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship. Good reflexes and increased physical strength.

A contract is made with a Curse Demon that grants him a nail-like sword. In order for the contract to work properly, Aki must aim the nail at any point on the target's body; then, after saying the word "go", the Curse Demon's hand will appear and snap the back end of the nail to deal damage. After striking an enemy with the nail three times, Aki can summon the Curse Demon, which will grab the enemy and deal massive damage, potentially killing them in the process. In order to use this move, Aki's life must be significantly reduced.

Fox Demon Contract: Aki Hayakawa made a contract with the Fox Demon. In exchange for feeding it a part of his body, Aki could use his power in combat by raising his hand and saying the word "Kon", causing the Fox Demon's head to appear and instantly burrow into the target's body, either swallowing them whole or tearing them apart. Aki lost the ability to summon it after he recklessly used the Fox Demon against Katana-Man.

Future Demon Contract: After Aki lost the favor of the Fox Demon, he was taken in by the Future Demon who is being held captive by the Public Security Service and managed to make a contract to use his powers in exchange for allowing the Future Demon to live inside his right eye.
