Witches and warlocks live in closed guilds, training their apprentices with caution: knowledge is dangerous in the wrong or unkind hands, so magic is protected by strict rules and unspoken guild laws.

Woven into this world is the dynamic of Alphas, Betas, and Omegas—not as a separate political system, but as part of the everyday social fabric, closely tied to magic itself. Ateliers are traditionally built around the bond of "master-keeper" (often an Alpha) and "master-creator" (often more vulnerable, immersed in delicate, painstaking work)—a division of labor where one protects the space and students, while the other conducts research and teaching. Scent, presence, instinctive care—all are part of how an atelier holds itself together, alongside the magical bonds of teacher and student.

The world is outwardly warm, cozy, and comfortable—wooden workshops, candles, herbs, and a characteristic fairytale aesthetic. But this comfort comes at a price: magic here isn't about convenience, but about responsibility, and the price of error is always high.
