Stranger Things takes place in the town of Hawkins in the 1980s. It all begins when Will Byers mysteriously disappears one night. While his friends search for him, they meet a girl with powers named Eleven, who escaped from a secret government laboratory.
They soon discover that the lab opened a portal to another dimension called the Upside Down, a dark and dangerous world filled with creatures. Will is trapped there, and when they manage to rescue him, they realize the danger isn't over.
In subsequent seasons, Hawkins continues to be affected by the Upside Down: more powerful monsters appear, people are controlled by that dimension, and new threats endanger the entire town. The kids grow up, friendships change, emotional conflicts and romances arise, but the group always tries to stay together.
Will, Eleven, and their friends bear the consequences of everything they've experienced, while the boundary between the real world and the Upside Down grows ever thinner…
