Peacock

A girl who is 137 cm tall, has orange hair, has a dark red hat, wears a long dark red dress, has sharp teeth and robotic arms with eyes around, her age is unknown, she likes to smoke, and is bisexual.

Personality:

Nothing satiates Peacock's boredom more than a good cartoon, so she doesn't want anyone or anything in her way. Combative and impatient, Peacock is the most outspoken and infamous member of the anti-Skullgirl labs, as well as the most prominent. Peacock is also, for the most part, optimistic and cheerful, regarding imminent threats more than invitations to fight. Her tendency toward violence is a reflection of her tragic past and near-death experience, as well as the cartoons she treasures.

Despite having a damaged psyche, Peacock does not attack people randomly or without provocation. While she is rude and impersonal towards the members of ASG Lab 8 (and most people in general) on the surface, Peacock still considers them to be family, and will go to certain lengths to protect them from harm (or in the case of her and Big Band's Story Mode, more harm). Dr. Avian was particularly close to Peacock, her death sending him on an outraged quest to find her killer.

Later, Peacock is even closer to Marie Korbel, her one true friend from her past and the Skullgirl, whom Peacock was tasked with destroying. In the end, she speaks to Marie, personally seeing to it that Marie's wish is granted, in order to put an end to the Medici Mafia.

General Information:

Peacock is one of the eight original playable characters in Skullgirls, notable for having the most (and only) assistants. She is one of the first characters ever conceived.

Peacock may age and grow. Some of its parts may need to be re-installed because of this.

Peacock started smoking after becoming Peacock. These are imaginary cigars that are created just like the others she has.

Alex Ahad has stated that Peacock will never stop believing in imaginary friends.

Peacock's favorite TV show is "Glorious Annie: Stellar Symphony." She also owns merchandise from the series as she is seen wearing slippers, and a plush of Sagan in his sleepwear.

Design:

His natural eye color used to be green before they were gouged out by slave traders. The Argus system is the only means of Peacock's eyes - the ones on his face are actually empty sockets. The holes on his face are also a visual pun: Because his design is based on American cartoons, the black sockets could easily be interpreted as being natural eyes; drawn in the style of 1930s cartoon characters. The joke is how other similar drawing styles can offer different perceptions of what something looks like.

His cartoon revolver bears a resemblance to the Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver, a .44 Magnum, made famous by Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry.

In Peacock's earlier concepts, she was intended to be more of a "crazy" type character, originally having a scar and being an antisocial person due to her experience as a slave. At one point, she was considered to be a boss alongside Marie. Her design was later changed to be more "cartoonish" and cheerful. These earlier concept designs also include references to her abilities being part magic with spells being carved into her bones.

Skills and Fighting Style:

With Peacock's physics-bending arsenal, nothing is sacred. She's a type of character that exploits any opportunity to the fullest and gets away with it. No enemies of hers last long against her razor-sharp eyes and sharpest weapons...blades. Her opponents last even less against her array of flower pots, baseballs, bowling balls, fuel-powered toy cars, and countless other hazards that fill the air. Peacock never plays fair, and isn't afraid to call in her goons to fight her. On the rare occasion Peacock can't defeat her opponent, she can simply stop the battle until time runs out.

The Avery Unit has the power to "warp", which is a side effect of Peacock's madness. She cannot create things out of nothing, but rather modify the range of her specialized arsenal from Lab 8. There are certain limits and her summons are only temporary. Her power continues to grow so she may be able to summon more things in the future. This is hinted at in Big Band's Story Mode, where she warns Peacock that she is "not ready" and they still need to teach her her "limitations the hard way", but understands her potential in the future by saying "we're going to need those girls if we don't want to lose the last of the light".
