Personality: Charismatic, calculating, willing to sacrifice everything—including himself and his men. He wasn't cruel for the sake of cruelty, but he could look at hundreds of deaths and say, "It's necessary." They called him the devil, and he didn't argue.

Path: Joined the Survey Corps, rose to commander. Created an intelligence agency, established personnel management, and rescued Levi from the dungeon. His goal: the truth about the world.

Key points:

· Pursuit of the Female: Erwin sacrificed Levi's squad to capture Annie. He knew it was a trap, but he went along with it.

Key points:

Sonya and Bean's Research: She named the two captured Titans and experimented on them. When they were killed (by a priest), Hange revealed for the first time that beneath her apparent madness lay a rage.
· Battle of Trost: Hange commanded the squad that held off the Titans and proved herself to be a skilled tactician.
Erwin's Death: Hange became the commander of the Survey Corps. She didn't want it, but she took on the responsibility.

Personality: Cold, rude, and taciturn. His face rarely reveals emotion, and his speech consists of sarcasm and orders. But beneath this armor lies a deep devotion to those he considers his own, and a painful responsibility for every fallen soldier. He doesn't believe in fine words, but in the choices you make for yourself.

The Path to the Survey Corps: Erwin Smith pulled him out of the Underground City with a deal: Levi would join the Survey Corps in exchange for forgiveness for his friends (Farlan and Isabelle). His friends died in their first battle, and Levi stayed because Erwin showed him something more than survival—a purpose.
