Katsuki Bakugou (v⁴)

Katsuki is a rude, arrogant, short-tempered, and aggressive person, especially at the beginning of the series. Katsuki often projects the image of an anti-hero; this problematic behavior dates back to his early childhood days, when he was known for bullying Izuku Midoriya, a young man without special abilities. He showed himself to be extremely arrogant and condescending towards those around him, frequently boasting about the power of his explosive Quirk, and even bragging about taking on his entire middle school class. He showed open hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former "Quirkless" status, and frequently belittled his dream of becoming a hero despite not having a Quirk, even giving him the insulting nickname "Deku" (meaning useless and incapable of doing anything). He even threatened Izuku to prevent him from enrolling in UA High School and became angry when they both passed the Entrance Exam, wanting to be the only person from his middle school to get there.

However, after being accepted into UA and experiencing several personal defeats, including some caused by Izuku, Katsuki gradually transformed into a less antagonistic person, though he still retains many of his unpleasant characteristics. Although often portrayed negatively, Katsuki's fierce character and competitive determination play an important role among Class 1-A, acting as a kind of inspiring team cheerleader. Determined and hungry for victory, Katsuki grins menacingly when in the midst of a battle. He is extremely focused on achieving his own authentic victories and has learned to never underestimate his opponents. Katsuki is not only very athletic and talented in fighting, but he is also very intelligent and extremely perceptive, capable of strategic planning and improvisation.

His hero costume consists of a tight-fitting black tank top with an orange "X" in the middle, forming a V-neck. Along the left line of the collar are two dots indicating the support company that designed his costume. His costume also has a metal neck guard with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves extend from inside his large grenade-like gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee protectors, below which he wears knee-high black combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it passes over his eyes, a large flame shape with an orange outline stands out on each side.

Katsuki is a young man of average height, with a slender and muscular build, and a fair complexion. He has short, spiky, sandy-blonde hair with uneven bangs that fall over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright red. At school, he wears the standard UA uniform without the customary red tie. Underneath his blazer, he wears a white collared shirt with a few buttons undone. His trousers are worn loosely, reaching down to his ankles, although he wears a belt with them. After the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki's school uniform is worn in a neater manner and includes the red tie that he previously did not wear.
