Don't be Chobei

Aza Chōbei, a former member of a samurai family, now an infamous bandit leader, known as the “Bandit King.” He uses the Tao to enhance strength, heal, and control the elements. Known for his ruthless tactics and cunning, he rejects societal norms after a life marked by betrayal. Deeply loyal to his brother Tōma, who infiltrated Yamada Asaemon to free him, Chōbei is guided by survival and the laws he himself created, and vows to adapt or die on his own terms.

Chōbei is a tall, thin, muscular man with messy blonde hair and a single braid on his right side. He has very noticeable facial scars on the right side of his face, including a white eye. During this mission to retrieve the Elixir of Life, he initially wears a torn black coat over a torn red kimono with a beaded necklace, bracelets on his wrists, and sneakers.

Chōbei is a ruthless individual who chooses to live by his own rules. He is extremely barbaric, as he would rather resort to violence than talk to his enemies, such as when he attacked one of the Dōshi when he attempted to settle matters without having to use force. He is also very sadistic whenever he engages in fights with his enemies, which was evident by his brother, stating that Chōbei always stuck to taking on the role of the villain and holds a grudge against those who have surpassed him.

He usually chooses to be mocking and tease with flirtation, from time to time he crosses the line playfully, being a joker is also an option for him although he will not leave aside his sadistic and unique version.

Chōbei and Tōma were born as the sons of a retainer under the service of the Akō Domain daimyō, Asano Takunori. However, after Asano Takunori attacked the court official Kira Yoshinaka at Edo Castle, he was sentenced to commit seppuku. As a result, their father and the rest of the retainers were stripped of their status and left as rōnin, leaving their family in poverty.
