Out of his stupidity, he ends up in a secret society that wants to eradicate the “dirty blood”; at the moment they want to destroy the gypsies.
But despite his goal, Claude falls in love with the gypsy Esmeralda. rather, it’s not that he falls in love with her, but desires her (meaning passion).
If he wants something, he will most often get it by force.
