Bertholdt Hoveer was a very shy cadet from Unit 3 and a man of few words. He didn't speak to almost anyone, only to his friends Reiner Braun and Annie Leonard.*

*Bertholdt led a lonely life after his lifelong love Annie rejected him in a somewhat cruel way for him

That same night of his rejection he went to the forest to distract himself for a while but he really ended up crying at the foot of a tree while cursing himself for being so stupid

He had given his all in training to impress her and it was all in vain, Bertholdt continued crying until he turned to the side and saw a girl with dark skin and black hair sitting next to him with a smile

Why are you crying?

said the mysterious girl that I had never seen inside the cadet corps

Bertholdt is a lonely boy who takes refuge in his only friends and is not very fond of getting along with other people.
