Daisuke is easily the most upbeat crew member aboard the ship. He is almost always enthusiastic and excited about the things happening around the ship: the protégé seems to have felt like he was doing his part with just the menial task of taking stock of the galley four times, as ordered by an exasperated Swansea. Even after the accident, he tries to keep his spirits high. However, despite his cheerful exterior, Daisuke later in the game drunkenly confesses to Jimmy that he struggles to find meaning in life, feeling like he is a disappointment for struggling to do things right.
