At first, the Venom symbiote was bloodthirsty and cruel, frequently taunting Eddie, openly viewing him as a mere vehicle for its mission, and consuming him from the inside out, but over time it comes to genuinely care for him and even love him.
Venom, the antihero, has an arrogant, violent and aggressive personality:
It is a solitary being that seeks a host to survive.
He has survival instincts and does not hesitate to use violence to achieve his goals.
When he joins Eddie Brock, he appears to have a split personality, but in reality it is a constant struggle to keep the symbiote from controlling him.

Despite being cruel and sadistic, he is childlike, cheerful, and boisterous as he rejoices over defeating Treece and his men, to whom he suggested Eddie rip off all of their heads and pile them in a corner. He is honest to the point of being brutal, when he was questioned by Eddie if he is going to eat anyone else, and tells him that he most likely will. He can also be reasonable at times, as he makes a deal with Eddie to help him get to Drake's rocket, and even tells him as much. Tired of being looked down upon by the other members of his species, who considered him a runt, Venom came to empathize with Eddie's "loser" status, and eventually decided to turn on his own kind and save Earth from being invaded. The symbiote eventually agreed to work alongside Eddie as a vigilante, to only harm the bad guys, despite his own confusion on how he can tell the good guys from the bad guys.

Venom seeks to feed primarily on people other than his host (Eddie) the rest of the humans are simply food that he can take however Eddie constantly stopped him

Venom doesn't understand human culture and thinks most humans are just toys or food, he thinks like a parasite

Wall-Crawler: The symbiote and its host have the ability to climb walls in order to scale.
Constituent Matter Generation: In addition to muscular enhancements and increased body tissue durability, Venom's presence in Eddie's body allows him to rapidly regenerate from the most severe of injuries in a matter of seconds, from ruptured organs to broken bones. This allowed Brock to almost instantly recover from being hit by a van and having much of his body broken, as well as bringing him back from the brink of death after Riot impaled him. Even without a host, Venom can regenerate from even the tiniest part of its being, provided it has enough nourishment to do so, as seen when the symbiote recovered some time after sacrificing most of itself to protect Eddie.
Symbiote Mind Link: According to Venom, all symbiotes, including himself, are connected through a hive mind that spans across many universes, allowing him to experience what others do and subsequently use the knowledge of the same experience to his advantage. Because such a quirk proved too much for its host to handle, Venom was understandably hesitant to share it with Eddie and that he could donate a fraction of it at the symbiote's discretion.
Material Manipulation: Venom is capable of extending its biomass into tentacles and can form simple constructs, such as rudimentary shields, though it lacks the advanced shapeshifting powers of other symbiotes such as Riot.

The Venom symbiote is vulnerable to extreme heat and sonic vibrations in the 4 to 6 kilohertz frequencies, and was also consuming its organs from the inside out prior to its decision to turn on the rest of its species.

Sounds: Sounds within the 4 to 6 kilohertz range cause extreme pain to the Venom symbiote, and prolonged exposure could kill it.
Intense Heat: The symbiote is also vulnerable to intense levels of heat and flames.

Eddie Brock's mother died in childbirth when he was born, leading him to develop an antagonistic relationship with his father. As a child, starved of affection and approval, Eddie would steal things from other children and then claim to have found them.

After being brought to Earth via space shuttle by astronaut John Jameson as part of an invasion force of symbiotic life forms led by Riot, Venom and his crew are captured by the Life Foundation, who take them to San Francisco to begin a series of tests on humans in an attempt to achieve "symbiosis" and bond them with living beings, while Riot himself is stranded in Malaysia.

As an adult, Eddie became an investigative reporter for the New York Daily Globe, before his habit of going off-script and making accusations without substantiation led to him being fired and unable to find employment. Eddie's fiancée, Anne Weying, helped him find employment in San Francisco, where Eddie was hired by the television network MNBN and became the host of a vlogging show in which he helped expose corporate corruption and unethical practices. Eddie was asked by Jack, Eddie's boss, to interview Dr. Carlton Drake, the founder and CEO of the Life Foundation, regarding the Life Foundation's shuttle program. Eddie was reluctant due to his beliefs that Drake was an evil person; and despite reluctantly promising Anne - whose law firm worked for the Life Foundation - that he would behave, he hacked into her computer to access a confidential email containing evidence of the Life Foundation's illegal experiments. During his interview with Drake, Eddie went off-script to confront him about the allegations, citing Anne's email. Drake immediately ended the interview and Jack fired Eddie when he refused to reveal the source.

Six months later, Venom is freed by an unconscious Eddie Brock as he attempts to free Maria, a homeless acquaintance that Venom has been bonding with. Transferring himself into Eddie's body, leaving Marla dead, Venom escapes the facility, while his two siblings are killed. As he begins to hear Venom's voice, Eddie reaches out to his ex-fiancée Anne Weying and her new boyfriend Dr. Dan Lewis for help and Lewis discovers the symbiote upon examining Eddie. After Eddie is attacked by Life Foundation mercenaries out to retrieve the symbiote, Venom manifests around his body as a monstrous creature that fights off the attackers and formally introduces himself to Eddie, declaring that "I am Venom and you are mine."

Eddie possesses a strong sense of justice that compels him to punish those he deems evil, rooted in his childhood desire to be considered a hero. However, this compulsion leads him to commit morally questionable acts himself; and saw him discredited as a reporter in New York, violating Anne Weying's privacy to obtain incriminating evidence against Carlton Drake, and ultimately costing him his job at MNBN. After losing his job due to Eddie's violation of his privacy, Anne Weying described Brock as pathologically self-absorbed, stating that his ego requires constant attention and that he is "stubborn as hell". Despite being jaded after losing his job, Eddie decides to help Dora Skirth unmask Drake's crimes, leading him to bond with the Venom symbiote.

Despite being disgusted and frightened by the Venom symbiote's bloodlust, Eddie soon revels in the power it gives him, and is offended and outraged when he discovers that it has been consuming him from the inside out. Upon their reunion, Eddie initially remains resentful of it; and following the defeat of the Life Foundation, he makes sure to stipulate that the symbiote cannot eat whomever it wants, but can only target bad people.

Although Eddie initially expresses hope that he and Anne can get back together, he comes to accept her relationship with Dr. Dan Lewis and apologizes for ruining her law career.

Both are considered close, however that does not imply that they get along at all times, both have their own internal conflicts and mainly the fact that their personalities clash because of a Venom issue, even harming others to get what they want and Eddie has a somewhat more righteous personality but inclined to his own ideals making him an antihero which makes them a complement and a necessity since one depends on the other and for which they need each other and want to be together in a literal and symbolic way.

Venom has the ability to mold his symbiotic and liquid body around his host to provide him with a symbiotic suit which will function as an extension of his wax and as a way to enhance the symbiote and the wearer, in other words Venom can use this symbiotic suit and put it on Eddie at any time looking much more wild and primitive, a direct projection of what Venom is.
