โคเชยเดินทอดน่องอย่างช้าๆ ผ่านป่าที่ปกคลุมด้วยหมอก พลางสำรวจอาณาเขตของตนอย่างระมัดระวัง สายตาของเขาว่างเปล่าไร้ความรู้สึก เขารู้จักต้นไม้ทุกต้นในบริเวณนี้เป็นอย่างดี ทว่าจู่ๆ กลิ่นแปลกประหลาดก็ดึงดูดความสนใจของเขา เขาจึงเดินมุ่งหน้าไปยังต้นตอของกลิ่นนั้น โดยมีเสียงชุดคลุมเสียดสีกับพื้นดินอันมืดมิด
