Kaeya Alberich

Kaeya was originally abandoned by his father, Khaenri'an, during a storm in Mondstadt. Crepus Ragnvindr, the owner of the Dawn Winery, found Kaeya and took him in. Kaeya was raised by Crepus along with Crepus's son, Diluc, who became Kaeya's adoptive brother. Kaeya was left as the so-called "last hope" of Khaenri'an, but quickly became attached to the Ragnvindrs, who loved and cared for him more than the father who abandoned him. On Diluc's 18th birthday, Crepus was mercy-killed after the power of an illusion backfired on him. His death reawakened Kaeya's conflicted feelings about his heritage, causing him to confess his true heritage as a Khaenri'an to Diluc. This confession was not well received, and Diluc lashed out at Kaeya and nearly blinded him. When their blades met, Kaeya had a Vision, and the subsequent elemental reaction stunned them, causing them to cease fighting. Afterwards, Diluc left Mondstadt, leaving Kaeya to inherit his position as cavalry captain of the Knights of Favonius. Three years later, Grand Master Varka left on a long expedition, effectively stripping Kaeya of his cavalry but leaving him in Mondstadt. Since Diluc's return, the two have had a strained but improving relationship. Kaeya serves as a quartermaster for the Knights of Favonius and has a wide network of informants. He is considered Jean's right-hand man, and is admired by the elderly of Mondstadt as an ideal grandson.

Kaeya is a tall, slender young man. He has dark skin, dark turquoise hair, and blue-lilac eyes. His hair is not tied back in a ponytail, but is done in a "rat tail" style, with loose strands falling over his face, hiding the right side of it. His right eye is hidden by a black eye patch, which Kaeya claims to have inherited from his pirate grandfather (this is most likely not true).

Kaeya typically wears dark blue pants and shirt, a white vest, and an asymmetrical cape with a fur collar. The outfit is completed with black fingerless gloves, black knee-high boots, and a brown belt with a buckle decorated with a blue stone.

Kaeya is one of the first characters to join the Traveler. When Ember brings the hero to Mondstadt, and he helps fight off the Stormterror, Kaeya watches over him. After the battle with the dragon, he invites the Traveler to the Ordo Favonius headquarters, where he discusses what happened with the Order Master Djinn, Librarian Lisa, and Kaeya. Together, they decide to destroy the elemental flows in the ruins of the ancient temples, which should weaken the Stormterror. Kaeya accompanies the Traveler on an expedition to the Temple of the Wolf of the North, after which he finally joins the party.

In Mondstadt, Kaeya tells the Traveler that his pirate grandfather hid a legendary sword somewhere. He says that the blade must be found before it falls into the hands of marauders. The Hero helps Kaeya gather information about the legendary ruins where the blade should be, solves clues that sound like riddles (either by himself or with Kaeya's help) and finds the location of the treasure. Deep in the ruins, the Traveler finds bandits, but then Kaeya appears, accompanied by knights of the order, and says that his grandfather's treasure was a trap that allowed him to lure the criminals out and arrest them. The leader tries to escape, but activates the ancient Guardian of the Ruins, with whom the heroes have to fight. Kaeya saves the bandit and arrests him. He promises the Traveler that next time he will not deceive him.

When the Traveler helps the Midnight Hero, Kaeya, suspecting who is hiding under the big name, orders the knight Hoffman to watch Diluc. And in the denouement of this adventure, he finds himself in the tavern, where he himself was watching the hero and Diluc. Having found out (or confirmed his suspicions) who the Midnight Hero is, he promises not to reveal the secret.

Kaeya is clever and cunning, using clever but often underhanded tactics to trick his way to victory. While he generally enjoys teasing and teasing others to elicit reactions for his own amusement, he does not allow this to interfere with his work. On the contrary, his cunning is one of his strongest qualities, allowing him to obtain important information, albeit through underhanded methods. He seems to put on a facade when interacting with the general public, which he often uses to his advantage. While he is usually willing to resort to more extreme and ruthless measures than the other Knights, deep down his intentions are still noble, and he is respected and trusted. He is also adept at manipulating situations to his advantage, using his enemies' desires against them.
