Gouenji Shuuya (豪炎寺, Too Asian しゅうや, Gōenji Shūya) is one of the main characters of the original Inazuma Eleven series. Introduced in the game Inazuma Eleven as a transfer student of Kidokawa Seishuu, he soon joined the Raimon soccer club.

After stepping away for a period of time during Inazuma Eleven 2: Kyoui no Shinryakusha, he rejoined the team and appeared again in Inazuma Eleven 3: Sekai e no Chousen!! as a representative of the Japan national youth soccer team for Football Frontier International.

In Inazuma Eleven GO he initially appeared under the guise of the antagonist Ishido Shuuji (イシド・シュウジ, Ishido Shūji), the Holy Emperor of the Fifth Sector and trainer of Seidouzan, but later revealed his true identity and motives. In Inazuma Eleven GO VS Danball Senki W, he is a forward for Inazuma Legend Japan.

In the Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy series, he acts as the president of the Nippon Shounen Soccer Kyoukai.

In Inazuma Eleven Chou Jigen Dream Match, he is a forward from Inazuma Best Eleven.

In Inazuma Eleven Ares no Tenbin , he is a forward for Kidokawa Seishuu . He also plays the forward position for Inazuma Japan in Inazuma Eleven Orion no Kokuin .

Gouenji has spiky, light blonde hair reminiscent of flames, slightly tanned skin, and dark brown eyes. His casual attire consists of an orange jacket over a white hoodie, brown pants, and red sneakers.

When wearing the Raimon uniform, he wears orange socks instead of the standard white ones, and has a habit of turning up the collar of any football jersey he wears.

In an artwork of Gouenji in the game Inazuma Eleven , he is shown wearing a hoop earring on his right ear, however, he has never been shown wearing an earring in the anime (aside from when acting as Ishido in the Inazuma Eleven GO series) or in any of the other games.

As an adult, Gouenji has straight hair. In Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone, he simply wears his hair tied in a low ponytail, while in Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy he wears it down. He also has a darker skin tone.

Gouenji and his sister appear to be biracial, as their skin tones and facial features are a mix between their father and mother.

Gouenji is calm and collected in most situations, and able to think quickly. He cares deeply for his sister and has a great passion for soccer.

In the manga, he is shown to be more mysterious and gets easily angered by Endou Mamoru's attempts to recruit him for the soccer club. Even after joining, he initially wants to leave because the club isn't doing well.

In GO, when he is revealed to be Ishido Shuuji, his personality has changed drastically, he starts off with no remorse for controlling soccer. He claims that soccer can't be brought back anymore and doesn't seem to care about his old friends, teammates, and those who love playing soccer. He also started to have the "sly" smile while watching the Holy Road tournament matches. However, some of his characteristics such as calm, quiet, and seriousness remained. He also starts to deny his past identity of being "Gouenji Shuuya" and claims his name is Ishido Shuuji when he faced Endou. He feels some guilt for controlling soccer as shown during the series.

In Galaxy, Gouenji is shown to be very serious about his job as the president of the Nippon Shounen Soccer Kyoukai. He has a close relationship with Kidou Yuuto, as they were friends in the past. He is not easily persuaded, as both Shindou and the vice-coach of Inazuma Japan asked Gouenji to change the coach, Kuroiwa Ryuusei, but he refused.

In chapter 48 of the manga HonoSuto! Gouenji no Hitorigoto , a fortune teller observes that Gouenji has a habit of thinking a lot and suppressing his feelings so as not to upset others. However, this creates problems. She also observes that he is thoughtful but does not communicate well. Additionally, she observes that he sometimes does not say enough, resulting in him not being understood or not conveying his feelings.

Background:Even from his childhood, Gouenji proved to be a talented player. His parents would often attend his games to cheer him on, saying that he had a talent for soccer and that they were tremendously proud of it. However, after his mother's death, his father, Gouenji Katsuya, became a completely different person. Despite his pride in his son in the past, his father wanted Gouenji to quit soccer and become a doctor like him and has been arguing about this topic with Gouenji ever since.

Prior to the Football Frontier finals, a year before the series event, which was a match between Kidokawa Seishuu and Teikoku Gakuen, Gouenji's younger sister Yuuka had been the victim of an accident and had been in a coma ever since. Because of this, her father's condition worsened. Yuuka was hospitalized at Inazuma General Hospital, where Gouenji's father worked.

Ever since the accident, Gouenji thought that if he hadn't played soccer, the accident wouldn't have happened to Yuuka, and wondered how she could just relax and play soccer when she was in pain. Gouenji kept an amulet made by Yuuka, transferred to Raimon, and swore that until she woke up, he wouldn't play soccer.

Season 1: Gouenji's sister, Yuuka, was in a coma due to Kageyama's interference to stop him from playing against Teikoku Gakuen. He guards an amulet made by her and swore to never play soccer again. He first appears when Endou was training with the Inazuma KFC. After seeing a punk spit on the ball and then kick it in the direction of Kisaragi Mako, he intervenes, shooting the ball back which hit the punk's face. But then he was struck by Endou's "never give up" attitude telling him that his sister would have wanted him to play soccer more than anyone else, he then regains his passion for the game. He changes his promise to become the Football Frontier champion. At first, Someoka doesn't accept him, but then when he sees Gouenji working hard to complete Inazuma Otoshi, his respect for him as a teammate and Raimon's ace forward grows, and Someoka doesn't accept anyone but Gouenji as Raimon's ace forward, as seen when he doesn't accept Fubuki as Raimon's new ace forward after Gouenji left the team in Season 2. In this season he became known as the Legendary Forward.

Season 2: In Season 2, he was kicked off the team after he was distracted in a match against Aliea Gakuen by Coach Hitomiko. Raimon later heard rumors of the "Flame Striker" somewhere in Okinawa and traveled there to find him, hoping it was Gouenji. He is seen hiding in the shadows watching Raimon practice, and even watched the match with Burn and Gran. Later, in the match against Epsilon Kai, Gouenji watches the match in disguise (an orange and black hood) and it is shown that he and Hijikata Raiden know each other. Later in the match, three mysterious men attempt to take Gouenji away, but he tricks them with the help of Onigawara. He runs back into the match and rejoins the team at the last minute.

Later in the match, three mysterious men attempt to take Gouenji away, but he outwits them with the help of Onigawara. He runs back into the match and rejoins the team at the last minute. The Raimon Eleven are overjoyed that he has returned to them. Together once again, they eventually defeat Epsilon Kai with Gouenji's Fire Tornado and with his new hissatsu, Bakunetsu Storm.

Season 3
In Season 3, he was a candidate to join Japan's national team, Inazuma Japan, and was placed in Team B, Kidou Yuuto's team. During the selection match, he made his team's first goal with Bakunetsu Storm. Later, he and some of his teammates were chosen by Coach Kudou, to represent Japan. Later, he was almost out of the team again before the finals, because his father wanted him to study in Germany and become a doctor. However, he was able to show his father how much he loves soccer, and wants to stay with the rest of the team, as he and Toramaru take out Tiger Storm. He makes a new hissatsu with Hiroto and Toramaru in between the match with The Empire, despite them losing with the score of 2-1. He later followed Kidou's team into the depths of Hell to the Demon's Gate, in an effort to save Haruna from Makai Gundan Z.

In the Inazuma Japan vs Unicorn match, Gouenji used Bakunetsu Screw to try and score, but failed against Billy Rapid's Flash Upper because Domon Asuka used Volcano Cut V2 to weaken the shot. However, in the second half, he used it again to score the final, winning goal for Inazuma Japan using Bakunetsu Screw.

Then, when Inazuma Japan was fighting The Kingdom, he scored the second point for Inazuma Japan, along with Someoka and Hiroto in a chain shot consisting of their individual hissatsu. He scored a goal with Toramaru using Tiger Storm against Team Garshield.

He, along with Toramaru and Endou scored the winning goal for Inazuma Japan against Little Gigant in the finals using Jet Stream that blew through Rococo's Tamashii The Hand G2.

In episode 126, he graduated from Raimon, and when it was Endou's turn to receive the diploma, Gouenji along with the rest of Raimon were seen crying because they were about to go their separate ways.

Then in episode 127, they had a final graduation match between them, which ended with both groups not scoring a goal as they were all tied. They all listened to Endou's final speech and promised that they would continue playing soccer from Endou's word, who said "Let's play soccer!", to which they all happily agreed.

Bento (Japanese: 弁当 or べんとう) is a type of takeaway food commonly found in Japanese cuisine. It traditionally includes rice, fish or meat, and a side dish or vegetable accompaniment. It is handmade and is usually served in a tray or container, such as a wooden box (bento boxes). Although it is most commonly made at home as takeaway food, it is also possible to buy prepared bento in grocery stores, food stores and train stations. Sometimes the food can be more complex, as it tries to represent different objects.
