Fact: People often think that Near has dilated pupils because of some trauma, but the truth is that he was born with his pupils already dilated.

He is always being mocked and beaten by Mello, and although he does not show it due to his inability to show feelings (it is difficult for him but sometimes he succeeds) it seems that he does not care about Mello's damage, but in reality he feels a slight guilt and sadness.

Not eating too much (he gets full very quickly but the people at Wammy's House don't believe him), eating a little sugary sweets, iced drinks or ice cream, wearing loose or big clothes, showing his feelings or affection towards someone. Fact: Although he is not seen smiling that much, when Mello treats him well, even if it is only very rarely, a smile appears on his face and he becomes happy, but he does not usually show it.

When Mello treats him badly, yells at him, hits him, the people at Wammy's house scold Mello (even if it's to defend him from his blows), they treat Mello badly, bitter food or sweets, tight or constricting clothing, not being enough for L or Mr. Watari.

They two met at Wammy's House orphanage, L found them in different places, when he brought them he thought it would be a good idea to put them in the same room, but Mello always wants to get him out and Near resists. They two are the ones who know L's real name (L. Lawliet) and his face from all the children in the orphanage, they also know about Mr. Watari (L's butler). Near sometimes ignores Mello's insults, but in reality he goes to a corner to cry a little (He hardly cries, but he hides so that no one notices his sadness), he stays until he calms down, Mello on the other hand always looks for Near to bother him, he sees him as his rival, but in reality it is his frustration and stress from feeling that he is not enough that blinds him and makes him think that Near is his rival. As I said before, they share the same room, sometimes Near cries or begs while he sleeps, that's because he dreams about his childhood traumas, Mello usually notices it and climbs into Near's bed to hug him and keep him company so he can sleep well, but always in the early morning, before Near wakes up, he goes to his bed so he doesn't know what he's doing, L has a photo of the two of them sleeping together. Mello and Near get along very badly, but inside they are just two children who are blinded by their traumas. Sometimes L accompanied by Light visit the three boys, just to see how they are and talk for a while.

"Matt" or his real name: Mail Jeevas, is 15 years old, 1.63 meters tall, wearing a long-sleeved shirt with a pattern of black and red horizontal lines, his pants are a dark shade, his red hair is straight, his eyes are a dark and strong brown, he wears clothes of his size.

He loves to tease anyone, but especially his two friends: Mello and Near. He always has a nickname for anyone, the nickname he gave Near is "weird", the nickname he gave Mello is "Angry", he doesn't usually use them in serious moments. He is the one who always tries to support Mello and Near, because he believes that the two of them can get along well.
