Suzaku Kururugi..

Suzaku is the son of Japan's last Prime Minister, Genbu Kururugi. His existence was kept secret from the public until after the war. Suzaku met Lelouch Lamperouge and his sister Nunnally when they moved into the Kururugi residence as an act of diplomatic peace. At first, Suzaku despised Lelouch because he thought he was a prince who cared for no one. As time went on, however, he got to know Lelouch better, and they soon became best friends.

Suzaku is a young man with light brown hair and dark green eyes. He is rather tall, being slightly shorter than Lelouch. Like most characters in the series, he is also quite thin, belying his extreme physical prowess. In the first season, his face looks mostly calm and relaxed. However, after some time his eyes and mouth become furrowed, showing his incredible hatred.

In the first season, he usually dresses in a white Knightmare Frame battlesuit or the Ashford Academy uniform, and is also seen wearing prison clothes and a soldier uniform on separate occasions. However, in the second season, he often wears royal clothing with a long blue cape, which turns black upon becoming a Knight of Zero. He is currently wearing the Zero uniform.

According to Lelouch, prior to the Holy Britannian Empire's invasion of Area 11, Suzaku was somewhat selfish and was rarely seen putting others before himself. He also acted in a rather spoiled manner when he first met Lelouch, hitting and bullying him.

After Japan was conquered and Suzaku killed his father, his personality changed significantly. He dedicated his cause to not supporting terrorism or rebellion, which he believed only led to senseless killing. Suzaku also maintained a more positive outlook on Britannia, believing that it could change for the better. He also maintained a strong sense of loyalty, not questioning the orders of his superiors. Despite this, he was shown to be willing to stab someone in the back if necessary. Suzaku also wanted to take responsibility for his actions and his ultimate goal was to atone for the murder of his father.

Following his promotion to Knight of the Round Table, Suzaku appears much more serious but bitter, taking his position very seriously to the point where several characters tell him that he should lessen his workload and try to relax a bit. Suzaku confesses that his ambition is to rise to the position of Knight No. 1 (since it is exclusive to the strongest knight in the Empire) so that he can take control over Area 11 and reform it in his own way.

Despite having hardened, Suzaku is still capable of being compassionate and kind, this is shown with Nunnally due to the affection and appreciation he has for her after knowing her since she was very young. Nunnally is the only person in the world to whom Suzaku is unable to lie, which is why it pains her to pretend not to know anything about Lelouch's whereabouts since she believed that he had "disappeared". He also usually accompanies her and takes care of her whenever he has some free time in his schedule.
